Ryan Davis was a GameSpot editor and co-founder of Giant Bomb. He was solely responsible for founding batmanbatmanbatman.com and cocainemountain.com, and went by the online nickname of "Taswell." Ryan passed away on July 3, 2013. He is gone but never forgotten. We love you, Ryan.
ryan actually tweeted this a week ago. as for the whole art debate, hype definitely plays a role with some artist more than others. just look at Mr. Brainwash, if you've seen Exit Through the Gift Shop you will see that his whole hype fed off established street artist that he happened to know and that the work he made were just commissioned pieces very similar to the works of Warhol and Banksy. the sad thing people ate it up and paid thousands for his pieces, but i'll give him credit for having the balls to fund this project. as for Olly Moss, i like his work and the silhouette stuff is cool, but not as good as his poster designs. the people saying they can do this cause they have photoshop, no you probably can't cause you still need skill to use photoshop decently and creativity to make something interesting.
Maybe I don't understand art. A guy made hundreds of silhouette's of people and that's considered mind blowing? I have Photoshop, I can make a silhouette. I guess that makes me an artist? Why does nobody buy my dinosaur drawings? D:
