Fairly straightforward topic....Saints Row has a ton of great moments but what was the best that stood out to you

Besides the awesome musical moments i have two favorite missions

• Matt Millers Loyalty Mission: Night Blayde fan fiction, loved it when Matt got all giddy when Night Blayde talks directly to him and right after you kill Night Blayde how Matt accepts Night Blayde's powers and responsibilities.
• Breaking Asha out of the sim: A ton of good stealth gags in this mission...but ill just quote one "That Light wont hurt anyone ever again" -Female Voice 2-

The opening of the game... nuff said

Also the asha mission was pretty great

The first version of the simulation

When you ask Kinzie to sing along and she goes lolno

The overly sentimental self-sacrifice to stop the missile scene in the intro mission.

The jaunty stroll the boss does after waking up in the 50's simulation.

The Metal Gear sendup in Asha's recruitment mission.

The Mass Effect sendup aboard the ship with the "Romance _________" button prompts.

Final mission spoilers: The payoff to the robot/power armor debate in the final mission. The fact that 'The Touch' starts playing as you suit up immediately after that.

I can't understate how excited I was to see that They Live level complete with a Roddy Piper cameo. Absolutely the perfect payoff to having Keith David on your cast.

Picking the red door in Matt's rescue mission. I knew it was the wrong thing to do but god damn do I appreciate that they just went with it.

I really like all of the Shaundi & Fake Shaundi stuff. It's probably among the least showy content in the game but her story mission and "romance" conversation are great.

I unironically enjoy parts like this.

Just off the top of my head, there's plenty more but the opening walk-and-talk scene is hilarious, Paul, the "romance" system, and the QTE pancakes.

Just like Saints Row the Third there are simply too many moments to pick. I can say that I will now have Opposites Attract stuck in my head for the next week.

I was also dying of laughter when you find out after the credits that Jane Austin is the narrator.

Saints of Rage, Pierce's Loyalty mission, Roddy Piper and the They Live scene, also...

Best romance in the game.

• Singing with Pierce.
• Shaundi's loyalty mission.
• Waking up in the pod.
• The whole intro was amazing.
• Kinzie's loyalty mission.
• Asha's loyalty mission.
• Everything that happened in the 50's.
• In the last mission, when all of the sudden the SR1 intro screen shows up.
• In Asha's loyalty mission, when you are performing the stealth kills, one of the guards says "famous movie quote!". I almost died laughing. That whole mission was a blast.
• Almost all the talks/ exchanges the MC has with Kinzie are hilarious.
• The subtle Airplane! reference in the ship.
• Kinzie's dance at the end.

I don't think anything in the game will top the Opposites Attract duet, but here's hoping. God that was great. Boss just wanted someone to sing the part of the cat, and then he did. Did he ever.

WHY ARE THERE SO MANY MASS EFFECT REFERENCES IN THIS GAME!?

Can we talk about the times the game just sends those fucked up character models/upside down or invisible cars are you in the virus modes?

Also I dunno if this is because I picked the British guy, but the voiceover also made it hilarious:

All of these have been great moments but, one that was very minor but got a huge laugh out of me was when Super President Keith David is giving his speech and you see someone holding a sign that reads I (heart) Goliath.

I semi-spoiled that for myself. I had already unlocked the outfit well before that mission, and I saw that his name was in the imdb credits, but when I walked into that alley, it was pure gold.

The gag at the end is great too. Keith David tells you that you don't call him, he just shows up when he's needed. Then they tell you that you can call him and to forget what Keith just said. So good.

So many wonderful moments throughout the game. I absolutely loved it.

• Matt Miller's, Pierce's, and Asha's Loyalty missions (That lightbulb had a family...)
• All of the Mass Effect references; I love how they're just straight up called "Loyalty Missions"
• Zinyak reading "Pride and Prejudice"
• Text adventures galore
• Timing super jumps to The Touch
• 50's walking animation
• Dubstep Gun
• The Professor Genki stuff was actually really funny this time around
• Insurance frauding myself halfway across the city

Also, if you go under the customization menu for the dildo bat and pick the candy stripe, the flavor text just says "Our weapon designers need professional help."

I really don't know if I can really boil down my favorite things because there are SO MANY things.

I'll say this. I think this is easily my GOTY now. I played on PS3 and the biggest letdown is the constant freezes I've endured. Besides that I've literally enjoyed every single moment. Also consider I'm at like 90% with the entire game. I've got like 15 challenges or so left. Everything is so fun even the mundane collecting shit part is infinitely more fun when your listening to Riff Raff.

I think I laughed most at the Romance ___ option mainly because I did it first with Kinzie and the MC just goes "Wanna fuck?" and I was half expecting something serious.

But yeah so many great things in this game. It has me wanting to play SR1 just to get even more of the references. It's the only one I didn't play.

There were countless awesome moments, but I think my favorite might have to be Opposites Attract/Just a Friend. So freakin' hilarious, and a great payoff to all that. But yeah, so many of the great moments have already been referenced, but there are still a lot more. Such a fantastic game. Even better than SR3.

One of my favorite moments might be unique to myself. During the end when you get the mech suit I didn't get the mech suit and for the rest of the game my character was bald and naked. It was kind of a bummer but it was also pretty funny.

Coming fresh out of playing through the entirety of the game this weekend; I agree with everything mentioned in this entire thread. So basically my favorite part of Saints Row IV was all the main story and loyalty quests.

EDIT: Since it hasn't been mentioned yet I'd particularly like to highlight the whole Streets of Rage - inspired portion; that was basically the perfect inspiration to draw upon for that quest!

But damn that's definitely up there among best credits I've ever watched, too, preceding it with a dance scene (particularly Kinzie's and Zinyak's and then the actual credits including the medley of the VAs' singing parts and the artwork of the Saints' tampering with history.

Every goddamn part of it. Fully upgraded Industrial Dubstep Gun is best Dubstep gun.

But oh man, did I have the biggest smile at the end with the Power Armor ("What? Is it a robot?" "Nope. Power armor." "No. Way.") and "The Touch". I was slightly tearing up because I was so happy at flying through Zinyaks' ship while that fucking song played. A game hasn't made me this happy in quite a while.

And those dances. And pictures. Pure, unbridled happiness.

@hobozero: Man, I just found out about that last night after beating it(the credits glitched for me and my brother, so we didn't get credits music). That was surprisingly touching. Saints Row IV really DOES have it all.

Same thing happened to me. The credits played but there was no music at all.

I have to say, the Roddy Piper appearance and the "Roddy goes where he's needed" comment had me laughing so freaking hard.

I am not saying opposites attract is the best thing to happen to video games.... but it kinda is

@nictel: @gorillamopena: I had this happen to me twice, but in my case I realized it was probably my own fault after the second time. Pretty early on in the game I'd gotten the 'tornado' upgrade for super speed where "sprinting creates a tornado which knocks off the objects in your path". As such, I figure it was my fault both times the helicopter flew off into the water, since I was still running around when it happened so I wouldn't be surprised if it just got thrown away by tornado as a result. Could totally still be fault of the game though, having experienced a few other scripting issues over the course of the game, but at least in my case I wouldn't be surprised if it was my own fault.

@gorillamopena: @winsord: Oh no everything went fine and she was on slow descent and then suddenly she started doing barrel rolls and loops like she was in Airwolf. The second time she came in way too hot luckily she did land on land this time. It's not the game, it is her.

I suspect they put Keith David into the game just so they could justify a Rowdy Roddy Piper cameo.

And agreed, fully-upgraded Industrial Dubstep is -the- best gun. It's like a rapid-fire rocket launcher of bass.

Also, I'm awfully tempted to play What is Love? every time I fly a spaceship now.

And yes, the constant callbacks to Saints Rows 1 & 2 were interesting. I came onboard during Saints Row 3, and it's a good way of introducing newcomers to the backstory and serving as a love letter to longtime fans.
