I'm an idiot and think I locked myself out of the "You're My Hero" achievement (the one for completing all challenges.) I cleared all the takeover stuff, and now there's no rival gangs around to get the "kill 50 gang specialists" challenges... nobody roaming around, no more gang ops, and even all the random survival modes I get calls about seem to be only for police.

Looks like I'm stuck doing another playthrough to finish those up. :-( I wish this game had a "New Game+" or at least the ability to replay story missions.

If you're going for an S-rank, don't be a dummy like me! Do the challenges first!

A few things DO get locked, it has to do with the level cap, not story progress.

Once you hit level 50 you can no longer do Streaking for credit, or Windshield Cannon (a small cavet is that you CAN do WC in Insurance Fraud zones)

My advice is DO NOT buy the respect increases and focus on the challenges over the story until you need to progress for kills. Also taunt rival gang members before you clear the story, or it can be very annoying (it does not count if the gang member is aggressive towards you)

What? I got the streaking credit in level 50. Also windshield Canon is easier during insurance fraud.

Actually, I also got streaking and windshield cannon at 50. I did finally manage to get the specialist kills, thanks to some mayhem missions (thanks for the suggestion!) and a couple of the assassinations where you have to kill gang members. Those allowed me to attract enough attention to get a rampage going and draw out the specialists.

Now, actually, my problem is the "Taunt 50 Gang Members" challenge. Either you can't taunt people once they're already in combat with you (and everybody that rolls up to stop your rampage is automatically in combat with you) or I'm somehow doing it totally wrong.

Edit: I should say that I'm playing on PC, though I'm not sure if that makes any difference. Maybe different patches?

That count only goes up when the gang members are "relaxed". You'll need to do an assassination, mayhem, etc, but go into a store to wipe notoriety and wait for them to be in non-combat position. Far from ideal after you've cleared everything out.

@SteamPunkJin: None of those things are true. I did all of those challenges after level 50 without going into Mayhem and have the S-Rank.

I've got 2 files at level 50 and I have been locked out of some of those challenges, so I don't know what to tell you other than that. Streaking doesn't increase the meter in the Saints Book and I have reloaded, changed my model etc, there is also no way to start streaking during a mission or event, so can't rack up credit that way. For the other file Windshield Cannon wouldn't record unless I did it in an insurance fraud zone and there are no gang member left to taunt.

@DBrim: Crap. I was afraid of that. I can confirm that it works for me, but what a pain in the butt!
