Saints Row: The Third: No One Man-Cannon Should Have All This Power
Hey, no one post should have all that power.@Spellbot5000 said:
This. You guys already used that joke on a front page post yesterday.Good lord, enough with the "No one X should have all this power!" jokes.
So they made another one. :)
I never played the first two Saints Row...but this one looks interesting.
I think I may have to check it out.
sucks that the man cannon that has been in all the demo footage turned out to be something you had to pay extra for. hopefully we dont get word before launch that the harrier jet is day one dlc or some similar bullshit
my god this game is setting to have so much crap in it who is going to be able to strap on all of this!? no one viruta duder should have this much power.
I agree entirely. Though so far they have only been showing all of the free-roaming carnage, more so than the story, so hopefully all of this ever-increasing stupid is all contained nicely within the free-roam. The stories for the games weren't exactly of a particular high standard, with subliminal messages and the like I'll admit, but they had some fairly realistic portrayals of a gang-polluted City and were pretty grounded in comparison to everything else outside.I hope they don't go to much down the "LOLOL SO RANDUM XD" path. SR2 had a good balance. I don't want to see clowns with dildo-swords in story missions.
The campaigns for SR are like some high-octane action movies with solid scripts; silly, but still with some fairly serious motifs underneath (The Brotherhood arc in SR2 was pretty fantastic for example, along with the Julius epilogue mission) and I hope The Third won't trade that in and go just a little too far this time.
Day 1 purchase.
I loved the hell out of JC2, and playing some of Saints Row 2 recently made me wish I'd played it as a counterpart to GTA4 back when they were both released. That game had its moments, but most of the time I just wanted to be doing crazy shit.
@PosableActionFigure said:Nice recap! Another thing I really loved in SR 2 was some of the cutscenes, in wich the game actually stood out. Like when those Ronin-fellas kill Gats girlfriend (flying roses) or the main character shoot his mauled-by-car friend.I agree entirely. And the game has to be more technically playable.

I really want to play SR3...but showing these in the E3 demo and then claiming it as a pre-order bonus a week later is not so hot.Cry some more. This is a business son.
Guys, it's already been confirmed that they're just bundled and skinned. You can get all the items within the game, just not with those matched textures. Leet, grow up.
It's pretty pathetic they showed this ma-canon thing off at E3 as being in-game when it's actually pre-order stuff.

One and the same
So…I get to run around with a huge cat head and I only have to pre-order a game I’m getting day 1. Sold!
I am so very excited for this game. Saints Row 2 was amazing, and this one looks to be even more so.
I don't want to comment much because I am not into this game, or the SR franchise in general, but one thing that intrigued me about SR2 was that it did seem to have a story. That main BAD guy in fact sounded like he was perfectly normal and adjusted on a level of mental illness and perversity that few serial killers or Hannibal Lector types truly reach. It honestly caught my attention, there looked to be some heavy handed drama. This..well this looks like Party Time, kind of different, least what I am seeing.
