Please please please please don't butcher the PC version this time. This is one of my most anticipated games.

I should really finish off Saints Row 2.  I got right near the end & then just got massively frustrated by I think the 2nd last mission.  Something to do with flying a helicopter.

I'm currently replaying SR2 in co-op, and fuck me it's the most fun you can have with a friend in a videogame.  Tears of laughter every session, it's joyous.   
 
The third game is a day one purchase.  Day one.

Saints Row 2 was just so much fun. I can't wait for 3. It's nice to think about silly shit like this after playing LA Noire non-stop for the past week.

I think they've decided to distance themselves even more from Rockstar's seriousness as seen in GTA:IV by going completely off-the-wall and silly.  Even the still-images at the start of this article look a bit cartoonish (the sexy nurse flying through the air?!) when compared to more recent Rockstar stuff like RDR and the published LA Noire.   I am hopeful for this since I really liked screwing around in the previous game.   Oh, and streaking better be back.  I always get a kick out of running through the neighborhood stark naked...and I like doing it in video games, too.

I was hoping they got rid of the "gangsta" stuff, I'm all for stupidity and old fashioned mayhem but the white middle class Englishman in me can't stand the whole low rider/rap/bling thing. And please get the radio stations balanced. In Saints Row 2 you had 4 cheesy 80 songs and 100 hours of rap to drive you mad

Never played a Saints Row game, but this looks pretty insane in a good way.

Volition knows how to make a sandbox game. Make it as crazy as possible.

About 12 hours into Saints Row 2 and loving how  gleefully deranged it is.  And good driving! Imagine that in a crime based open world game!

Weird how the database page knows the game takes place in "Steelport", but Jeff doesn't. Still, this game looks amazing. GTA IV really let me down, but Saints Row 2 reminded me why I liked open-world games in the first place. Can't wait for this one.

Jeff, the game is NOT set in Stillwater. It picks up from where the Utor Exposed DLC left off, where the dude (can't remember his name) escapes to some city, and you put your whole gang into finding out where he went, getting there, and taking revenge.  Edit: Found it, the game's set in Steelport. (From the X360A preview)

@Daiphyer: Actually that's more of a side-story that will be like a secret mission in the next game much like the mission where you find Julius in Saints Row 2?  Or it could be again another DLC side-story for Saints Row The Third.

I recall reading an interview about the DLC, and when asked about the cliffhanger ending, Volition said "Maybe that'll be your goal in the next game. Maybe" I mean, it makes sense since the game is not in Stillwater anymore. The protagonist wanted to exact revenge on Dex since the end of the first game.

Saints Row 2 was so good, this one sounds like it's going to be even better, can't wait!

As I remember reading Game Informer, the game does NOT take place in Stillwater after the first mission.

Saints row is a great "I'm not really playing" game.
