Anyone else like SR 2 shaundi better? this new one sucks, the old model was way better wtf did they change it. I agree with the protesters about how the new one looks and dresses. "SHAUNDI IS A WHORE!" Seriously though there is alot of funny dialog and gameplay revolving around her. I like how the cops on the first mission where like " MY KID WANTS TO MEET SHAUNDI" and when your all messed up in that one mission your char says, "Now i knoow how shaundi must feel". Funny stuff great char.. RIP hippy shaundi with the mini shorts and dreadlocks.

Shaundi.
I liked most of the characters (and most of the game too) better in SR 2, but that giant russian dude is a breath of fresh air.
I absolutely hated Shaundi in SR2. The drug jokes got really old really fast. Her new design and personality are much less annoying.
yah now she is just a giant whore, much better... i like the choices you can make if you want a new follower or how you want to deal with them, on the bright side.. Its just the new shaundi seems to Generic there is nothing really unique about her, the old one was very unique and fit her fucking role very well.
Shaundi isn't a whore because of the way she looks and dresses. She's a whore because well...she's a whore. Her show is called I Want to Sleep With Shaundi. Also, apparently she's slept with like most of the dudes in Stillwater (I think this is mentioned in SR2 as I don't recall it in SR3). Hell, in one of the Genki missions, one of the hosts talks about sleeping with her and the pictures/videos of it online.
In any case, I think she's an okay character in SR3, but I think they could've done away with the whole 'whore' back/sidestory thing they got going on.

You hit it right on the head. Most of her connections in SR2 consisted of ex-boyfriends/people she slept with in the past. This whole "Whore" thing isn't anything new. Personally, I'm a bigger fan of SR3 Shaundi. She may look a bit scary with those eyelashes, but she has a heart of gold!
Also: Homeless people with "Shaundi is a whore" signs. Those things are never wrong.

I enjoyed Shaundi's personality in Saints Row 2, and I have no issues with her in Saints Row: The Third, even though it is a departure from her entire personality. It might as well be an entirely different person. "I'm full of surprises."
This.
I don't hold anything against SR3 Shaundi and I liked both interpretations for differing reasons (SR2 Shaundi is kinda useless, but was like a ''cool cat'', whilst SR3 Shaundi is a badass bitch), but they're so radically different I don't know why they just didn't conceptualise SR3 Shaundi as a different character altogether.
yah wonder why they changed her so much and the others are basically the same. this new one is too much like fucking laura craft in looks. personality wise i think they are pretty close in char. guess since they made it big she had to clean up a bit for the upper class PORN. Whore. lol what a game....
maybe i'm not far enough into the game, but i haven't found myself dealing with my homies enough to have any interest one way or the other. i've been so engrossed in playing the game that i haven't even paid attention to what my any sidekicks look or sound like (not that i'd care anyway).
hater... i love shaundi just miss her old model. okay its all from that one scene in SR2 where you see her jogging on a treadmill in these tiny little shorts... sooo fine ;) and her whole pot head crazy party girl life style fit her model better, with the dreads and all that shit. should have an option for old shaundi model.
I just felt she was boring in terms of character development. All she cared about was Johnny when that one mission at the start is really the only time we've seen her show any sort of concern for him. It really doesn't matter anyway since, SPOILERS!, she's dead in the canon ending.
I didn't get a huge whore vibe from her. She's portrayed as a chick that fucks a bunch of doods but you never hear Shaundi herself acting like a whore or wanting to sleep with everything she touches. She's actually portrayed as a tough, no nonsense kind of chick which is much better than most females in video games these days.

The old one was annoying as hell with her shitty dialog and Eliza Dushku's godawful acting.
OH!!! That’s why her voice sounded different. Also yea I feel that in SR2 she was super laidback and on SR3 they swung her personality all the way to the other extreme, making her the only serious character in a very unserious world...which, to me at least, felt like missing the point.
Did not care for the changes made to Shandi, they didn't really make sense. I don't really care either since she wasn't all that great of a character to begin with. I just wish The Boss kept his or her penchant for over the top-revenge. The game felt a little tame vs. what you did to all the gangs in SR2.
@SteamPunkJin: Yeah, nothing really tops what you do to Michael Dorn's character in SR2 (I liked the callback when the STAG commander mentioned it). The whole "girlfriend stuffed in the trunk during the monster truck show" scene was cold bloooooooooooded.
I thought SR2 Shaundi was more interesting - she at least had some more interesting mission intro sequences. And she was tied into the whole crazy Sons of Samedi plotline, which I really liked too.
Overall though, I think the worst thing has to be that there's no Johnny Gat in SR3! He was my favourite :(
Very true but given that this was a conscious design change on the part of the developers i think it's works as intended. There's no doubt that there was some darkness to the plot of SR2 but paired with all the goofiness offered in the open world it created a bad case of dissonance. One minute your cutting the head off of a rival gang leader and the next your doing handstands on a moving car or spraying shit on the sides of buildings. Even the marketing in SR2, highlighted and focused on all the goofiness even poking fun at GTAIV for being too serious. It was good to see them make the missions as over the top as just fooling around in the world. The game felt a little tame vs. what you did to all the gangs in SR2.
Yah i mentioned i thought they toned down the hardcore violence. There was a couple from SR2 that where crazy hard core. Acid Tatoos, bodies being dragged alive behind a moving vehicle (my fav.) etc. SR3 didnt really have any of that, which i though was lame. my idea of 'over the top' is things like that, ultra violence, or super wacky missions, not just : throw a million troops at them with helicopters and crazy free falls etc... Thats actually the type of 'over the top' that I hate about these types of sand box games. Is that you take on huge armies of gangsta's solo handed. they need to add a more RTS element to these games, make the 1vs1 a challange, and you have to command and outfit your gang properlly to survive the streets. blah blha blah sorry.
Shaundi was a drugie whore in SR2.
In SR3 she is a corporate, flashy dressed whore.
Actually seems like logical progression considering that that is what the Saint's changed to.

Most definitely. I never really considered her to be that great of a character anyways, but at least in SRTT I can tolerate her. She was like one of those people you meet in real-life who take every opportunity they can to talk about all the drugs they do. Yeah, I think I got it the first fifty times you brought it up.

I liked her more this time around. Though I have to say the lack of
Shaundi is one of my favorite characters in Saints Row The Third. I didn't play Saints Row 2 so I don't have that comparison but I think she's pretty great in 3.
Na I really didnt like her in the 2nd game, Why was she a lieutenant in the gang, she was crap all she did was manage to get her self kidnaped by that DJ guy. Atleast now she doesnt take shit and knows how to fire a gun.
I liked how they made her important.
Because hey, she kinda was in SR2 but I never got that feeling.
Some druggie who's also a whore and she's hooking up with bad types...SR3 gave her more of a gang vibe.
