Is it worth it to take over territory? I normally play games like Vinnie, but from what I have heard on the bombcast, this game is best not played like that. Every time I see the territory thing come up, I feel compelled to go and do it. However I hate doing it. The fights aren't fun, and feel like a waste of time.

I am in the very early parts of the game, and trying to figure out my direction. Do you lose territories and have to take them back over again throughout the game? How important is it to do these fights?

If you're talking about the waves of enemy thing you get called to do that's not how you get territories. You get them by buying real estate, doing missions and taking out gang operations. The only reason to do those is to fill out the saints book, and get some respect.

I'm talking about the gang operations. Maybe it gets better later on when you get better weapons, but they just aren't fun to do yet I feel compelled to do it. If all they do is respect, then I can happily ignore them.

The first time I did one, I didn't realize the operation ended, and that the waves of enemies coming were because of notoriety. I spent a good 10-15 min killing waves of gang members wondering when the damn thing was going to be over.

Taking out gang operations nets you respect, but it's also worth taking them out because their presence can screw up your efforts in other activities. Nothing quite like escorting an angry tiger around Steelport, getting chased by asshole animal activists, and then suddenly catching the ire of a gang by driving right by a gang operation, to boot.

I actually have one more gang operation to take out, but I'll be damned if I could figure out where it is.

For the Gang Operations, wait until you have a helicopter with rockets (the Eagle) or a Vtol. It makes them simple to take care of, and the Morningstar like to hang out on roofs.

If you're talking about the Survival things, get a tank in your crib, and when your cell rings for one, answer, then call in your vehicle delivery homie to bring it to you or pick one up on the way. Those waves can't stand up to a tank.

It sounds like you're like me and you want to do everything in the game. It's a perfectly legitimate way to play, and I had a lot of fun doing it.

They stay there, you can go back later and do them so don't worry if you don't feel like doing them straight away.

You don't enjoy the open world activities in an open-world game, OP? I prefer to take out gang operations, and the wave-based fights than the actual story missions.
