Trouble With The Clones DLC coming tomorrow (!)

#1 Edited by Djratchet (669 posts) -

Gat is back, and well.... he's not exactly the same as before. Can't wait to play this, Gangstas in Space was a good bump in quality from Genkibowl, so I expect this to be the best one yet. Also, superhuman running and shooting fireballs from your hands looks effing sweet.

Well... Time to jump in again.

Strap it on.

Goddammit. I haven't played any of the DLC. It makes me feel like I'm a failure at life. = (

I really need to check them all out...at some point...when I'm not fucking raiding on Old Republic...

#10 Posted by TEHMAXXORZ (1199 posts) -

Let's hope it's good this time...

Sold.

#17 Posted by StrainedEyes (1324 posts) -

Hopefully it's good. I've regretted the Season Pass thus far. Either way I'm probably trading it into Amazon after this.

#18 Posted by drag (1223 posts) -

can i give them a buck for the quick running ability?

#19 Posted by StalkingTurnip (150 posts) -

I think they should have named it the SHOOT FUCKING HADOKENS pack. Would have sold more

#20 Posted by DrDarkStryfe (1117 posts) -

Here that sound?

Shhhh, listen.

It is the sound of It being strapped on.

I'm... eh, I'd be lying if I said was excited. It's great to see... some form of Gat return, but I'm way past SRTT at this point. I'll play it, complete it in what'll no doubt be like an hour like the others and then I'll place it back on the shelf. Though at least judging by the trailer, this final hour of content should look to easily surpass the first two piles of rubbish that preceded it. It's a pretty great twist to turn that dweeb from the comic shop into an actual character.

Also I would laugh my ass off if they don't allow you to use the Saints Flow powers outside of the missions. Y'know, like they did with the flying in Genki Bowl and the sci-fi weapons in Gangstas in Space.

EDIT: And after what I've been reading from people who've already completed it, you totally don't get to use the Saints Flow powers after the story's finished. Splendid.

STRAP. IT. ON!

#23 Posted by Kanden (132 posts) -

I just completed it. It's only 3 missions like the Gangsta's In Space DLC but they feel shorter than the Gangsta's In Space missions. The unlocks you get are awful. Unless I missed something the only unlocks you get are two new homies. The writing however is the best out of all the DLCs. There is an amazing part in second mission that references some stuff from the second game. If there's one DLC you need to play it's probably this one. The end seems like it will pretty easily tie into Saints Row: The Fourth whenever that game comes out.

Also has anyone noticed if Shaundi has been in any of the DLC? It makes me wonder if they're going with the ending where she dies. I hope that is the one they make cannon just because it's way more interesting than the "good" ending.

Bwah ha ha! SOLD!

...though it doesn't take much to sell me on anything that has Saints Row The Third on it.

#25 Posted by Ravenlight (8040 posts) -

I never unstrapped it! Strapping another one on!

#26 Posted by Rolyatkcinmai (2687 posts) -

I like when people act like the season pass was $150, not the price of four mocha lattes.

#27 Posted by dekkadekkadekka (733 posts) -

I'm reading that the superpowers aren't retained after the missions end. Confirm/deny?

#28 Posted by Kanden (132 posts) -

@dekkadekkadekka: Confirmed.

Hard to say at this point since during Gangstas in Space, The Boss references Shaundi being alive during the first cutscene. I'd be fine with either, though we have to remember that the ''bad'' ending also results in Burt Fucking Reynolds being dead too D=

#31 Posted by StrainedEyes (1324 posts) -

Sounds... great. I'm going to go bang this out so I can retain my S rank, then get rid of this game.

#32 Posted by dekkadekkadekka (733 posts) -

@Kanden: Well that's the proverbial piss in the cornflakes. Ah well.

Thanks for answering!

#33 Edited by Kanden (132 posts) -

@Abyssfull: True but the "bad" ending also has the Saints declare Steelport a sovereign state. Which would make the 4th game that much more crazy.

#34 Posted by StrainedEyes (1324 posts) -

Just beat this in like an hour. The content itself is fine, but it's super short and not having access to the powers outside of the mission is a bummer.

So, final verdict on the Saints Row Season Pass? Short and disappointing.

#35 Posted by RIDEBIRD (1232 posts) -

Fucking hilarious so far. Love it. Pierce. PIERCE.

#36 Posted by Lazyaza (2183 posts) -

Yeah Steam downloaded the new dlc for me earlier being a season pass sucker n all, I really hope this is "the one" but after the last two my expectations are pretty low. Thankfully Reckonings dlc is out this week too and it looks awesome.

Is this the last piece of DLC?

#38 Edited by blacklab (1554 posts) -

Thank freaking God, Gat is back.

Mass Effect 3, you can just sit over there in the corner while I do something important.

#39 Posted by DarkFury (369 posts) -

One and done, reclaimed my S-Rank. Shortest DLC yet but made me chuckle.

For the season pass, yeah.

#41 Posted by HaltIamReptar (2029 posts) -

Is this any good? GIANT BOMB, HELP ME SPEND MY MONEY.

#42 Posted by Kanden (132 posts) -

@HaltIamReptar: If you're looking for a reason to play more Saints Row and you've got the money go for it, maybe even pick up Gangsta's In Space and this pack. If you're not really jonesing for some more Saints Row I'd say wait until they go on sale sometime in the future. You'd only get about two hours out of those two packs so judge if that's worth your money or not.

@Kanden: Saints Row the Third is one of my favorite games of the last ten years. I fucking love it. But, I have stayed away from DLC in fear of disappointment. I stayed away from the other two packs because I was super bummed with how they appeared to turn out (garnered from video and the buzz). How does the tone and the humor of this pack compare to the main game?

#45 Posted by Kanden (132 posts) -

@HaltIamReptar: At least for my tastes there were multiple times where legitimately laughed at the situations that happen in this DLC. Mission 2 of this pack is one of the funniest missions in this game. I'd definitely recommend picking it up, however I can't recommend the season pass because this DLC (albeit short) is the best out of the 3 by far.

#46 Edited by HaltIamReptar (2029 posts) -

@Kanden: I currently can't find the spoiler button, so a spoiler heads up.

"Let's bounce like my checks did back in the day"

Worth the price of admission.

#47 Posted by admachina (189 posts) -

This pack continuously more and more insane right up to the end.

A must-get and a fitting finale to SR3

#48 Posted by Hizang (8532 posts) -

People need to remember that they made both the other DLC pack trailers awesome too.

Strap It ON: Again: For the very first time.

Spoilers I guess...?

Sad that it was so short, also sad that you don't retain your powers.
