Its not about the nudity. I despise censorship in any form with a passion, it shows a lack of character that a studio or company decided to sell out, and censor their product so more people (children who shouldn't be playing it in the first place ) would be able to buy it. Its the same reason i don't waste money going to movies while theyre in the theater because nowadays, they'd rather make money then give people the real finished product, and just squeeze out a teen friendly pg13 pile of crap. Forcing people to rent or buy the UNRATED dvd version 7 months later.
I cant stand censorship in any form be it nudity, violence, free speech or any other form.
To me its an insult

Pro-tip: You are being censored right now.
So you're not buying the game because you won't be able look at "real" penises...
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

No one is forcing you to see a version of the movie not rated. Unrated does not mean the content is any more promiscuous than what you saw in theaters, it is scenes of that movie not presented to the MPAA for review, so it was not rated, most of the time is needless stuff that were probebly taken out for a good reason.

You realize that the ESRB would have rated it adult if they let your character go nude for the whole game, right? Meaning no retailer carries it and essentially kills their game. Not "selling out" is great as long as you can sell, at all.

Kids these days are so spoiled... Back in my day all we had was a picture of the lady from the Sears catalog and some good ol' fashioned imagination.
Truth.
Oh man those were the days, National Geographic was awesome.

Should have known this topic was screwed the moment i typed penis...
What i was hoping would be an open discussion on censorship has turned into this crap...
The internet is sadly a pathetic yet beautiful thing...
You complained that you can't see a virtual dong or a set of pretend titties. How can you expect anybody to take you seriously?

It is just boobs, who cares?
Maybe it was the devs intent to have them be pixelated? They know they are working withing the ESRB so why bother stretching the rules for something like boobs. Boobs, dude, they are everywhere and add little to games.
Boobs.
@DH69: Ok, I get where you're coming from. If they're going for an M rating anyway, I see no reason as to why it shouldn't have some nudity or rather censor the nudity that's already there. As I said earlier The Witcher 2 has a lot of it, and if handled well it can add character to the story. I doubt It would get an AO rating, since The Witcher 2 is M
Why is the OP getting all this flack? He doesn't want to support something so he isn't going to buy it. WTF is so wrong about that?
I see plenty off people telling anyone who will listen that if they don't like something, they shouldn't buy. So why is this stupid?
The game is supposed to over the topic, stupid and very silly.
Showing fully detailed nude characters isn't the same as showing them censored. It's no longer funny, it's god damned creepy. I can't stress enough how horribly out of place that would be in a game like SR.
It's the same reason they chose to bleep out the swears in the Conker remake. It was funnier having the cute little animals beeped out, instead of outright swearing. If you're that opposed to censorship, don't buy the game then. No one will miss you, least of all the developers.
THANK YOU! It's the same reason those videos on Youtube where they insert bleeps into children's cartoons are pretty funny (sometimes). To be honest this game would look kind of stupid with uncensored nudity. The game is supposed to over the topic, stupid and very silly.

cause the moment i mentioned anything about nudity, thats where their minds went.
completely ignoring the fact that i'm complaining about censorship in general.
I admit, my first thought was "Oh god, really? This is what people cancel their preorders over?". But considering it a bit more, I guess I can see your point. I personally wouldn't cancel a preorder over that, as much as I despise censorship, but I'd certainly make a "can you believe the double standards?" facial expression at the screen.
- buy PC version
- wait for a nude mod
- ...
- profit
Saint's Row 2 had a pretty quick mod to remove the mosaic, and then another one shortly after to add actual genitalia/tits (because default ingame models below those mosaics are actually dolls)
Who knows what else is in that game? They may have been facing an adults only rating if they added full frontal nudity to the already long list of ESRB offenses that game already probably contains. If they get an AO rating, certain retailers won't sell their game which means they make a lot less money on a game they spent millions of dollars creating. Rockstar and Sony might be able to get away with it, but Volition and THQ? Maybe they don't have as much clout.
And yet, you're ignoring every intelligent counter argument and instead focusing on the dick jokes. The USA has an issue with sexual content. Other countries--such as Germany--have an issue with violent content. But just about EVERYONE has issues when you mix the two. Kratos or the Witcher can get it on with some naked women, and every game protagonist ever can kill pretty much everyone who gets their way, but mixing the two just isn't done.Should have known this topic was screwed the moment i typed penis...
What i was hoping would be an open discussion on censorship has turned into this crap...
The internet is sadly a pathetic yet beautiful thing...
Furthermore, I'm sure this was a CHOICE made by the developer, which means that the game that they'll be releasing is the game that THEY want to release. Why would you have an issue with that? And lastly, I'll quote this again:

Also why are you buying a game for fucking virtual nudity.
I will explain it to you when you grow up.
that is not the reason i'm determined to buy Witcher 2 as soon as i upgradeGo play the Witcher 2. full frontal female nudity in the first 5 minutes
it ISNT
The OP is right about americans accepting horrible acts of violence and being shocked half to death when in front of nudity. Seriously here in France we have titties all over our day time tv. Also sex scenes and nudity don't warrant an R rating, people have been naked for thousands of years. Grow up.
Where the OP is wrong is complaining because the lack of nudity to which I say grow up :)

Well its official all nudity is censored in the game, with those hidious pixels. Making me wonder YET AGAIN what the hell is wrong with the world when you can have a game that lets you beat homeless people to death with a 4ft long plastic penis yet can't show a single barebreast or "real" penis
