They head to the North Pole to confront Santa on why he's sent such a gift, and they find some elves cowering in his workshop because Santa has gone insane and keeps firing a machine gun in their direction. Using their detective skills, Sam & Max find that an evil demon has been unleashed at the North Pole. They sneak into Santa's room and read a document that instructions them to collect the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse action figures to present to the demon to bring it forward, capture it, and release Santa.
However, it turns out that Santa was never possessed by a demon, but he thought that one of his elves was. Santa tries the demon, a blue goo creature named Shambling Corporate Presence. Sam & Max continue following the instructions, jumping through time with help of three Christmas spirits (Past, Present and Future). They have to fix all of the Christmas they've ruined in each of the time periods.
Sam & Max complete all of their tasks and the Spirits help them by turning the Shambling Corporate Presence into a plate of jelly. Santa, being the jelly lover that he is, eats the plate's contents and then actually becomes possessed by the demon. They knock Santa out and discover that the demon shouldn't have been sent to him, but instead to Satan. They send Santa on his way, and The Soda Poppers and elves all start preparing the real gifts for Christmas. When presented with the problem on who will now deliver the gifts, Sam & Max step up to the challenge.

Sam and Max travel to the North Pole, but Santa is packing more than just presents when they arrive!
