    Samurai Warriors 3

Game » consists of 4 releases. Released Dec 03, 2009

Players once again take part in a romanticized version of the Japanese Sengoku era, hacking and slashing their way through scores of enemies, in the first mainline Warriors game to be released for the Wii.

Anyone else getting this game this week?

I know that this week pretty much belongs to Dead Rising 2 as far as new releases go, but still, I cannot deny my appetite for rampaging through feudal Japan and killing lots and lots of dudes.  Samurai Warriors 3 has been on my radar for a long while now, and it's nice to see it finally coming out in the U.S.  Anyone else here planning on getting it?

Nah, don't think so. I am planning on buying the couple of PC games that came out last week.

Plus, I have played the PS2 iterations of the Samurai Warriors series and didn't like the repetitiveness of the games.

Heh.  Maybe.  I just got the game today myself, but I haven't had much time to dig into it yet, and haven't even touched the network options.  From my brief time with it, it's already looking good, though.

Is this just a spin off of Dynasty Warriors?

Arcanum and Independence War is about as ambitious as I'm thinking about getting right now.

It is, but the series has developed in a direction pretty much independent of Dynasty Warriors.  The gameplay in Samurai Warriors 3 is a very different beast compared to Dynasty Warriors 6, beyond the very most basic components of hacking and slashing.
