La Peninsula de los Muertos ( translated as The Peninsula of the Dead) is located near San Hieroynmo Peninsula on Central Colombia Coast; the exact topography of the peninsula is classified by the CIA. It was the site of a hidden Soviet compound during the Cuban Missile Crisis. However, Soviet forces were forced out of Cuba in 1962 when international tensions were running high. Many Red Army soldiers were forced to remained stationed there.

It was in 1970 that the FOX unit went renegade and took over the base, using it as the centre of their operations in San Hieroynmo.
