Does the KFC Double-Down Sandwich actually constitute a sandwich?

Part of what it takes to be a sandwich is to be between two pieces of bread, does it not? If it's just that it must be between two like things, then a quesadilla would be a sandwich, technically. Even a calzone could possibly be construed as one, and when that happens, all hell just breaks loose.
 
To ye unfamiliar...

  That's two pieces of chicken around cheese and bacon. No bread, aside from the fact it's breaded. Weigh in on this important debate!
