Overview
Science Adventure is a collection of novel games headed by Chiyomaru Shikura at MAGES (formerly known as 5pb) where the stories often revolve around otakus who get wrapped up in conspiracy theories and other kinds of pseudo-science events. The franchise obfuscates traditional dialogue choices and instead contains unique trigger systems for each game that branch the story in different directions.
The series initially began as a co-production between 5pb and Nitroplus. However, after developing two titles together, the series has since been exclusively developed by 5pb. The mainline installments currently include:
Every entry in the franchise takes place in the same universe with characters sometimes making appearances in subsequent titles. However, the franchise is also split up into various sub-series that follow different storylines and often contain their own spin-offs and sequels.
All of these titles have also been adapted into to various mediums such as anime, manga, movies, light novels, audio dramas, etc. Many of these adaptations have become just as popular as the games themselves, if not more so, with Steins;Gate in particular garnering a large international fanbase in the 2010s.
