Overview

The scoreboard as seen in Mario Superstar Baseball.

Scoreboards are use to show the score of the match. In sports games they are very simple with points, quarter/inning/period/round, and finally how much time is left in the game. Games like Call of Duty 4 have very complex scoreboads in multiplayer matches. They usualy include team members, kills, deaths, score, K/D Ratio, Captures (If a objective gametype), and time left in game. The Mario Party franchise used the scoreboard to show the following: Current Place, Current Items, Number of Stars, Number of Coins and the Character Name.
