History
Scorpion was originally known as Hanzo Hasashi, the greatest warrior in the Shirai Ryu ninja clan . He became a ninja to provide a better life for his wife and son, despite his father's wishes that he choose a different path in life. His clan's most hated rivals were the Lin Kuei clan. Scorpion and his mortal enemy, Sub-Zero, whom is his brother, were both hired by Quan Chi to retrieve a scroll from the Himalayas, but the two ninjas crossed paths and clashed in the mountains. Sub-Zero emerged the winner, decapitating Scorpion in the process. Scorpion soon found himself in the nether realm, presented with a choice: an eternity in hell, or a return to Earth as a specter with no memories of his past. Scorpion chose revenge, and returned to Earth only to find that the Lin Kuei had wiped out the Shirai Ryu clan entirely. Now Scorpion is more driven than ever to kill Sub-Zero.Ed Boon has stated multiple times that Scorpion is his favorite character.
