I guess WB entertainment confirmed that Scribblenauts sold 1 million copies at least.

WOW.

That game really wasn't that good.  I felt like a sucker for buying it.

Well you can't blame people for wanting to watch God battle Krakens now can you?

@demontium: shipped, not sold.  "sell in" traditionally means placed on store shelves.

edit - looking up the terminology it appears that "sell in" doesn't even necessarily mean shipped to retailers.

Control issues aside, the game still did get positive word of mouth from those that were able to look beyond them.  It also has a charming art style and encourages creativity and proper spelling and requires some level of problem solving skills.  The violence in the game is also beyond simplistic, making it an ideal game for younger audiences.  There's a lot to like in the game, and for it to sell a million units shouldn't come completely out of left field.

That's a shame. Especially when great DS games like Chinatown Wars sold like crap.

Hah good going for them. I'm sure that the dev is aware of the problems of the first game (After Scribblenauts was built in a very tight time frame) and that they'll take their time to fix those for the sequel now that they dispose of the resources and their new popularity.
