The Emerald City, Seattle, is the premier city of the Pacific Northwest. Seattle is home to many game development studios and is featured as the main locale in a number of games.

Overview

Seattle, Washington and the surrounding area is home to one of the largest concentrations of video game and tech-related companies in the world. Nintendo of America and Microsoft are both headquartered just to the east of the city in Redmond, Washington. The city is located in King County and is home to the University of Washington and professional sports teams such as the Seattle Seahawks and Mariners.

The biggest draws include The Space Needle, Pike Place Market, Seattle Center, the Experience Music Project, both CenturyLink Field and Safeco Field (each ranked among the top 10 arenas in the country), the Puget Sound, the seafood, and plentiful outdoor opportunities.

Each year, Seattle hosts the Penny Arcade Expo, the largest gaming-community convention in the world. Now, Seattle's PAX convention is referred to as PAX Prime, since the Penny Arcade Expo began in Seattle, and branched to the East Coast. PAX is three days of uninterrupted previews, reviews, concerts, tournaments, panels and pixels.
