Hidden characters appear only when certain conditions are met. Finding them usually requires great skill.
A character with the ability to copy or steal powers or weapons from their enemies.
While completely normal from the neck down, these characters seem to be lacking a bit of skin up top. Creepy.
A character in a game who has acted professionally, in movies, TV, or the stage.
Skeletons that are directly controllable by the player; a concept that spans across multiple genres.
Not all elder people are kind.
In video games, breaking the fourth wall occurs when a game becomes aware of its nature as a game, or when a character directly acknowledges the player.
The ability to manipulate objects with one's mind. Telekinesis is often displayed as an incredibly powerful ability.
Flashbacks take a player into a flashback sequence. Often playable, but not always.
The true final playable part of a game that presents itself after the game's supposed ending.
Water that defies gravity by being suspended in the air.
The main martial arts style of the Fist of the North Star series.
One of the major martial arts styles featured in the Fist of the North Star series, it destroys enemies from without as opposed to from within.
Who loves you and who do you love?
Enemies that are small, deal relatively low damage, and have low health, but make up for it by attacking in large numbers. Examples include Flood infection forms from Halo, Trites from Doom 3, or Crawlers from Resistance: Fall of Man.
A large mass of people. This is most commonly seen in sports games where the crowd consists of a large amount of spectators.
Some bosses transition through two or more forms during the course of a fight. Each form has its own abilities and health separate from those of other forms.
Known for their flashy appearance and superficial charisma, game show hosts in video games are often not to be trusted - outside of game show adaptations, at least.
An effect that deals damage to anything that attacks or touches the character.
A Multi-Phase Boss is a boss that undergoes a significant and instantaneous change in abilities, attack speed, and/or attack pattern during the fight. These bosses do not fully regain health between forms and appearance changes are usually minimal, if at all.
Men too tough to cover up their chest.
Games that depict information in formats such as graphs, charts, diagrams, data maps, cross-sections, exploded views, and relational maps. Can be used to inform the player's choices or merely for aesthetics.
Unattainable or broken achievements are achievements that no longer unlock, never unlocked from the start, or require an online component to a game that no longer exists.
Druids were pre-Christian priests in Celtic culture and feature prominently in Irish mythology. In games they are generally nature-based healers and spellcasters.
A professional soldier of the Roman army.
These are the very last games officially released for a major console in North America.
Genetically evolved humans, animals or aliens.
The ability to see the world in a different way. Reveals paths, secrets, enemies, among other things.
A type of video game ending common in the 8-bit era where characters are just... hanging out on a cliff, usually looking into the distance in a resolute manner.
Law is a rule or a system of rules, usually enforced through a set of institutions, applied to govern a group.
