This site has pictures of the cabinet.  Hope it eventually gets a XBLA / PSN port.

Like I said in the other thread, probably not.  Ringwide arcade hardware is higher spec than Wii by a large amount, yet it's lower end than PS3/360.

edit - the other thread was posted in the Wii forum by mistake.  Anyways, this is the proper forum.

Wow I hope the do release this on the 360. I really did like that game, I even have it on my Dreamcast. I can't wait to see how the hi-res graphics look.... NOW IF SEGA WILL ONLY GIVE ME A FUCKING NEW CRAZY TAXI!!!!!! Sorry for that shout, I have been asking for a new Crazy Taxi since the 360 first came out.

Dut dutut dut dut dut dut dut duduuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
    DAYTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONA!
I remember being blown away by Daytona in arcades when it came after Virtua Racing.
I played that game to shit on the Saturn.
You could put the Saturn disc in a CD player and listen to the entire soundtrack. I remember being completely blown away by that.

Here's the guy behind the music Takenobu Mitsuyoshi having a silly jam session with the most amazing percussionist I've seen live, Rony Barrak.

Confirmed by videos on 1up.com today.  It is literally just a port of the original Daytona, minus the Daytona name & music.  Higher resolution, but they don't even have texture filtering going on.

So basically a really inefficient port of the original.  Maybe they'll port it to XBLA / PSN cheap.

Gah, not even fixed pop up or anything. Why the fuck waste such semi-powerful hardware on it? I doubt they'd port it on consoles as it could take from the arcade release, at least in the region those still matter. I guess it's a replacement for the old cabinets (new looks good), but it's baffling they see enough demand for Daytona and instead of building a sequel or remake they do this... I'd rather play my DC if I had a wheel...
    Three Seven Speedway
    Dinosaur Canyon
    Sea Side Street Galaxy
vs Dreamcast Daytona USA 2001 (not a great player but one of the few vids with just about decent visual quality there):

(I know some people dislike the controls on it but, imo, with a bit of sensitivity tinkering they're spot on and feel great!)

I may pick up a wheel, it's the one peripheral I don't own on Dreamcast, and I do own a few racing games including Daytona. It's always been over priced though.

    Sounded great at first but I'm hearing that they've removed a hell of a lot of content, the music made the game for me and I've read that it's been removed for something different;

Hope not, that would suck. Loved the original.

Well it's not gonna have the track that's blaring "Daytonaaaaaa" for sure since the game's not Daytona as they don't have the name rights.
