So earlier this year XSeed announced that they were bringing both Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus an action beat em' up game and Senran Kagura: Bon Appetit a Cooking rhythm game (no really watch the E3 trailer) to the west. Well it now has a date and a release trailer! October 14th for North America and October 15th for Europe. It will be sold digitally on PSN as well as a limited run of a physical version of the game with an art book and soundtrack. $39.99 digital $49.99 for physical with the goodies. Bon Appetit will be released later this fall exclusively as a digital game. Nothing is known yet about a release date.

Personally, I think the game looks like a good silly time. I could use a beat em' up game on my vita and this looks to fit the bill. I have my physical version pre-ordered and waiting!

This game looks just stupid enough to be fun, provided it is compatible with the upcoming playstation TV I may have to check it out. XSeed games aren't for everyone, but they do have a certain charm.

just checked and the PS TV also releases on October 14th, I have to imagine this game will work with it if they wanted to make sure it was in stores on that same day.

I fully expect that this game will get trashed in the reviews (if any big review sites actually bother reviewing it that is) but from everything I've seen thus far It looks like a lot of fun and a reason to keep my vita out.

@demoskinos: I'll hopefully be picking up my physical copy today. Should be fun to pick this up in person. Not sure I'll get around to it tomorrow since I'm knee deep in Alien: Isolation and am also picking up The Evil Within tomorrow, but hopefully soon or after the pile of Vita games I now own and haven't played.

@demoskinos: I'm skeptical of this. I played the "original" on 3DS and found it repetitive and boring (and really framey). From what I've seen of gameplay videos, this looks to be the same type of gameplay, just in 3D (movement, not stereoscopic). As much as I enjoy "day in the life" types of Japanese game stories, I have no plans to pick this up for anything near full price.

Amazing. Just xceptional.

I'm not going to be able to pick up my copy until Wednesday. For those of you who end up enjoying the game I would also suggest maybe checking out the anime or they also released one of the manga series in English. I'm not going to lie and try to say they are amazing or deep, they're just fun mindless entertainment.

I'm way more interested in Bon Appetit than this.

@corevi: Yes that game does look pretty silly and fun. Hoping for a December release. They claim it will be out before the end of the year.

So looks like Destructoid gave this a 8/10. One of the more favorable reviews of the few from major outlets that there is.
