Did the setting of this game remind anyone else of the first Metal Gear Solid? If you've played through the game, you know what I'm talking about.
Shadow Complex
Game » consists of 5 releases. Released Aug 19, 2009
Reluctant hero Jason Fleming investigates a hidden underground complex to rescue his girlfriend Claire in this Metroid-style action-adventure game.
Metal Gear?
The developers have admitted that Metal Gear was an influence. Also Metroid, Castlevania: SOTN, Flashback, Out of this World, and a bunch of others.
In addition to all the mechs walking about nonchalantly in the main menu and throughout the complex itself, the constant vent-crawling-eavesdropping also give it a feel quite reminiscent of MGS. The storyline also has some similarities to MGS 1... (though I haven't finished it, so I could be wrong).
Agreed.
But I think it's skin deep. There's a moment about an hour into the game when this really flamboyant sounding interrogator dude takes center stage in a cutscene. What happens next is very un-MGS, and probably consciously so.
No support staff, no heavy handed moralizing, no over-the-top bosses as yet.
OH MY GOD! Chair Rips off Konami's Metal Gear Solid soldiers .
Here is the proof.
