Hey all

After listening to some of the Game of the Year Bombcast's (yes slowly catching up) I was pondering over buying Shadows of the Damned. However I have a few questions I would like answers for before buying?

1). Does the gameplay stand up for itself without the story being involved (i.e. is the game fun)?

2). How long is the game roughly (say on normal difficulty for an average level player)?

3). Is there any of the DLC codes that means a new copy is best?

I ask as I have seen this for a tenner and I am thinking at that price I may as well get it now rather than wait on my backlog to find the game is no longer available anywhere (as I have looked in a few stores today and have yet to find it in store).

Thank you :)

It was one of the best games last year, for that price it's definitely a steal. It'll probably last you 8 or so hours which I think is how long it took me. It plays like Resident Evil 4 but you can move while you shoot, so I thought the gameplay was satisfying. The story is really where the game shines though - story, soundtrack and characters.

1) I thought it was fine. It's some basic 3rd person shooting with no cover.

2) I would say 8 hours or so.

3) I don't believe so

Definitely worth 10 dollars. Though, you should buy it new. Support Grasshopper!

I'd say its worth that, the game is a lot of fun and the story is great. There are no DLC codes and the game is about 10 hours long.

It's worth it. It's like Resident Evil 4 gone bat shit crazy! Game is about 8 hours long, no new game plus. Though I found it fun to play through it again on the higher difficulties upgrading different weapons each time.

The story and humor definitely make it worth checking out.

It's worth a tenner for the writing, The game part is junk though. It's about eight hours long.

I got it when it first came out and paid full price for it. Worth every penny.

Just to let everybody who responded know, I picked up the game from an online store.

Cheers for the help everybody.

The game is boss. That's all that is needed to be known.

This game reminded me of two things: I will never escape the voice of Steve Blum, and for all the cringing I think I like Suda 51 when he's even crazier.
