That's kind of pushing it for arcade game size isn't it? Oh yeah, and Shank (along with Scott Pilgrim) is up on the store now.

1.98 GIGS!?

That went out the window when they release a 250gig HDD.
I'm sure it has to do with the high res animations and cutscenes.
i heard a CD dev on a podcast say that the limit was 2 GB so they made sure they hit that limit 'cause "give them a big download and customers feel they are getting value" (paraphrased)." @CaptainObvious said:

TO be fair it is no different to when PS3 developers used to talk more about how much space on the blu-ray they were using rather than how long their game was.

These XBLA/PSN/WiiWare games are getting big and for people like me with a cap, you have to be careful. My cap is only 60 GB and while I don't DL often, it can run out fast if you're not careful. Therefore, I can't DL the demos until I'm near the end of the month. Hard to believe a game like Limbo is only 150 or something.
Yeah, I'm trying to figure out what the big deal with this is. People complained about the 50meg limit, now others are complaining about the opposite. I guess people always find something to whine about. :/
I've got a 100gb cap, but even though I'm a bit of a download fiend I rarely have a problem (though as I say this I'm pushing 85gb on my limit this month).
" @Shadow said:they got rid off that restriction to bring Symphony of the Night to XBLA." @CaptainObvious said:Man, and I thought Shadow Complex's 7 or 8 hundred MB size was pushing it. People feel a bigger file size is worth more money. Just like how people think that the time to complete a game is more important than the quality of the game.
" @Hamst3r said:Fuck's sake that's horrible. I thought we had it bad in the U.S." Do you have a monthly download limit or something? D: "25 gig in new zealand and it's slow as fuck. "
Also 1.98 really is a lot. Is every level totally unique with 4 minute long cutscenes on either end?
" @Hamst3r said:Geez are you with telecom or something? Mine is 40gb and fast as fuck." Do you have a monthly download limit or something? D: "25 gig in new zealand and it's slow as fuck. "
Yo dawg, that whole game has like 30MB of unique gamplay. Screw all them extra MBs. They've got to be padding. It's just silly. I didn't buy the game, so it's no skin off my hog, but I'd be miffed about trying to cram it on my original 12GB hard drive alongside some DLC and an installed game.
I realize they're playing up the "value added" angle, but yo, fuck that shit, son. We gots kids and bandwidth caps or whatever the fuck people are worried about. Shiet.
" Yeash, I don't think I could live somewhere with a download limit. I'd be maxing out after a couple days. "
So you'd download 25 gigs+ in a few days? Why exactly would someone use that much that fast?

I don't think it's a big deal but if I get closer to filling up my hard drive I might be a bit more concerned. I don't mind how big it is if they use it wisely as it was said earlier hopefully they were not just being lazy and not compressing where needed. I am still more concerned with the sneaky move to the $14.99 price point for all good games. If we aren't careful live arcade games will be $40.00 and retail will stay $70.00. I'm on to you!!!!

The loading times are kind of ridiculous as well, literally minutes. Haven't seen that since the ole PS1 days.
