Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2 - Innocent Sin
Game » consists of 4 releases. Released Mar 03, 2011
A PSP remake of the original PS1 title Persona 2: Innocent Sin. The remake is the first version of the game to see official release in North America.
Officially confirmed for release in North America this fall
Hell yeah. To make this Persona special is that it never came to America so it'll be interesting to play it.
Thank you Atlus. After playing the English translated ROM hacked version, I was pulling for this to be released in NA. Pre ordering this right now.
@fenixREVOLUTION said:has it come out in Japan already? It sure did take them long enough to announce this.....Did it? Seems pretty much standard MO as far as Atlus releases go. They always announce their stuff until after it came out in Japan. And usually within 1 to 2 months.

Never played any of the old Personas, just 3 and 4. Was this game fun and does it have a cool story? Also is it true you fight Hitler?

Hopefully this comes out on the store. I think that all games available on the store will be able to be transferred to the Vita, even if you've already purchased them... is that correct?
Edit: An internet search told me that Innocent Sin was in fact released on the PlayStation Store, in Japan.
Edit: An internet search also told me that all PSOne Classics and PSP PlayStation Store purchased will be able to be transferred to the Vita.

I would assume this would be on the PSN store when it launches. I got Persona 3 Portable that way and to your other question yes all games bought from the PSN store can be transferred to Vita.
Thanks.

I love P3/4, but the remake of P1 wasn't great. How does P2 compare?
Its closer to P3/P4 and many of the themes in P4 (true self vs shadow self) are in P2. But the social elements are very secondary (you can choose one of your companions to focus on as the MC but its very limited in affect). Basically it breaks away a good deal from the SMT main series here, much more than Persona did but P3 still is the first game that really brought everything together like it did.
Not good. Atlus didn't adjust or change anything significant for the most part. If you've played through the English ROM-hacked version of IS, there's really no reason to purchase this game, especially at $40 for an archaic JRPG. I'm actually quite disappointed in Atlus. They waited a over a decade to port this game and this is what we get?I love P3/4, but the remake of P1 wasn't great. How does P2 compare?

@QuistisTrepe said:I don't know what you're trying to say, your post is completely incoherent. Stealing? Oh please. OH NOES! I downloaded a game that had been out for 10 years, was no longer available for retail purchase nor was it ever released in NA. It was borderline abandonware. P2 got me into the Persona series and now I'm one of Atlus' best paying customers.@dagas said:wait your dissapointed in Atlus that they are releasing the same game as the one you stole.. @dagas said:Agreed. I like P2 a whole lot, but the preliminary review scores are totally justified. Atlus completely dropped the ball on rereleasing it.Not good. Won't be buying.
What the fuck does this have to do with his point? Nothing, that's what.@QuistisTrepe: dude, it's still stealing. I don't care what kind of spin you give it. You still stole it. Honestly buying this one would make up for the fact that you did (and many others) But whatever duder, it's still stealing but *claps* yay your a best paying customer?
Also, downloading a 12 year old PSX game is about as morally objectionable as jaywalking.
The only thing they did readjust is the UI. And notice that I say "readjust" and not "fix", because its reportedly still a pain. edit: okay, new soundtrack, which was admittedly pretty cool.
@Catolf said:Take a chill pill Mutha3. For those who hadn't played it it'll be a new experience, I'm sorry you both are disappointed in a game you both took illegally anyway. XP A lot of people haven't played the game rather to wait for an NA release. Chill. Seems like I ruffled your feathers. What the fuck does this have to do with his point? Nothing, that's what. I'm on the fence with this, the middling reception has confused me somewhat. As someone who hasn't played the game before though, should I get this version?

While Atlus never published one-half of Persona 2 outside of it's native territory, to complain that one would invalidate the entire release based upon a fan-translation is difficult to justify. Usually when ports are haphazardly released, the justification is that you had already purchased said product for it's originally intended hardware. The reasoning to spend more money on what's essentially the same game you already own is understandable: You should scrutinize every aspect of it, does a new quickly-made dungeon with color-palate swapped enemies, justify you purchasing Final Fantasy IV for the billionth time?
From at least a North American consumer, this reasoning for Persona 2 is almost null. You haven't wasted anything if you pick up this version of Persona 2, granted you haven't had a choice in the manner for over a decade ( or not), but to discredit the release because you pirated the thing like everybody is kinda broken logic. Being upset at how long it has taken for an official release is one thing, but being upset that it doesn't offer enough beyond some nebulous justifiable scale, regarding new content is a bit ridiculous. This is especially confounding considering there have been multiple updates in this version, and it looks like a pretty decent port job.
