Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 is a role-playing game developed and published by Atlus for the PlayStation 2. It is chronologically the fifth installment in the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series. Like its predecessor, its gameplay combines a traditional role-playing game with elements of a social simulation. Its critical and commercial success spawned a sizable media empire, including several spinoff titles.
As a Chie fan myself, I must say that I applaud your efforts. Confusion be damned, the leader of the Vanguards of the Lunch Revolution deserves to have her name spread far and wide. I may even start naming my grandchild Chie in advance just to honor her.
Morally upright people love Chie. Boring people love Yukiko. Unkempt roadies love Rise. And... I dunno who loves Naoto. Dick Tracey fans?
That said, I was a Chie fan loooong before it got all trendy up in here. I saw the opening sequence on YouTube back when the game was released in Japan last July and when I saw that very shot your icon has I knew way ahead in advance who I was going after.

Nah, I just named my character after me. Although, it is weird when the story throws my name in the dialogue text when everyone else in the game has a Japanese name.
I beat P4 and made Chie my main squeeze waaaaay before the Endurance Runs were even a conception, and especially before the Giant Bomb Chie Love Explosion started (actually, my girlfriend didn't like any of the other gals as well, so I really didn't have a choice, lol :p )
It still doesn't make Chie any less AMAZING though!!!!!! xoxo
Heh, no offence, but naming your character Chie KNOWING there was going to be a main character named Chie already is a little stupid. I love Chie though, definitely want to see if anything happens between her and the protagonist later in the game (I'm not that far into the game yet)
I def went for Chie as well. Though, because I started the game after the endurance run, I don't think the main characters name can be anything other than Charlie Tunoku. It just doesn't seem right.
I think having naming the main character after Chie would be confusing and annoying, but that is just me I guess.

I haven't got the game yet, but when I do, I will definitely name the main character Charlie Tunoku. As you say, anything alse would feel... wrong.

I honestly think all the Chie love on this site comes from ER copycats. That's just me though.

Outside of Giant Bomb, Yukiko and Rise are more "mainstream," followed by Naoto and Chie. At least as far as fandoms go. Most people seem to be far more in favor of the Yosuke/Chie pairing, including myself.

Today I named the main character in Nocturne Charlie Tunoku. Thank you, Endurance Run.
