Shin Megami Tensei: Persona

A remake of the original Persona. Created by Atlus, it was released in 2009 for the PlayStation Portable handheld system. It contains all of the content that was excised from the original North American release of Revelations: Persona.

Characters

Adramelech

A solar deity whose worship was once prevalent in Sepharvaim. He appears in the Ivallice Alliance series as an Esper.
Aello

One of the three Harpy sisters. They were said to torture people on their way to the underworld.
Afanc

A lake monster of Welsh folklore. Its exact physical appearance varies, but it is often assigned the attributes of a beaver or crocodile.
Agathion

A familiar spirit utilized by witches, magicians, druids and the sort. They can be sealed within a jar, as well as a talisman or ring.
Aizen Myouou

One of the Wisdom Kings of Vajrayana Buddhism. He is widely associated with the transition between wild passion and true enlightenment.
Alastor

A high-ranking demon and one of Lucifer's top Generals. He was the mastermind behind the demon invasion on Purgatory.
Ame no Uzume

Goddess of dawn and merriment in Japanese myth. When Amaterasu hid in a cave from Susanoo's violent behavior, it was Ame no Uzume's raucous dancing which drew her back out.
Anubis

The Egyptian god of the dead, usually depicted as a man with the head of a jackal.
Arachne

A boastful seamstress of Greek lore. She wove an elaborate tapestry bearing the various transgressions of the gods during a contest with Athena, and was subsequently turned into a spider.
Arianrhod

A prominent figure in Welsh mythology, and mother to Lleu Llaw Gyffes. She appears in the fourth branch of the Mabinogi.
Armaiti

One of the Amesha Spentas, or Bounteous Immortals, in Zoroastrianism. She represents and personifies Holy Devotion to the supreme god Ahura Mazda.
Azrael

An angel of death in Abrahamic religions. With four faces, four thousand wings, and a body covered in eyes and tongues, he watches and records the span of humans' lives.
Baal

A deity of Canaan also known as Ba'al Hadad. Symbolizing storms and fertility, he competes in a solar cycle where he kills the evil god Yam, yet loses to the death god Mot; however, Baal fakes his death and subjugates Mot.
Baihu

One of the four celestial beasts of Chinese mythology, known as the white tiger of the west. He represents metal and the Autumn season.
Beelzebub

Also known as the Lord of the Flies, Beelzebub is one of Satan's most favored right-hand men and is a popular demon in video games.
Bennu

A sacred heron bird and the spiritual embodiment of Ra, the presiding solar deity of Egyptian lore. He is closely associated with the mythological Phoenix.
Brahma

The creation god of the Hindu Trimurti. His wife is Sarasvati and he is often depicted as sitting on a lotus flower growing from the navel of a sleeping Vishnu.
Bres

A Fomorian prince of Irish lore who would later succeed Nuada as king of the Tuatha De Dananann. He was later defeated by Lugh during the Second Battle of Magh Tuireadh.
Cait Sith

A fairy appearing in the form of a cat from Celtic lore. They are said to haunt the Scottish Highlands.
Celaeno

The youngest of the three Harpy sisters. Aeneas was said to have encountered her during his voyage to Strophades.
Cu Sith

A mystical hound of Scottish folklore who was thought to carry the souls of the departed into the other world. The Cu Sith would occasionally let out a fearsome bay, and all who heard this bay three times would die on the spot.
Cuelebre

An immortal dragon of Asturian lore. Their saliva is said to form a mystical stone capable of healing any illness.
Dakini

Female deities in Tibetan/Buddhist lore. Appears as a demon in the Megami Tensei series.
Durga

An eighteen-armed warrior goddess of Hindu lore. She was created to slay the invulnerable Mahishasura, who held dominion over the three worlds at the time.
Enku

A voracious ghoul residing in the Preta realm of Buddhist lore.
Eriko Kirishima

A major recurring character in the Persona series.
Fafnir

A monstrous dragon from the Volsunga Saga. He was slain by Siegfried, who pierced his heart from within a trench.
Fenrir

One of the three spawn of Loki in Norse Mythology. A fearsome giant wolf with a maw that spans the sky, Fenrir bit off Tyr's arm and is fated to kill Odin at Ragnarok.
Freyr

The Norse god of fertility and brother of Freya. He and his sister are Vanir, an outside group of gods who warred with the Aesir before becoming assimilated within the Norse pantheon.
Gozu-Tennoh

An ox-headed deity of Japanese esoteric Buddhism. He is perhaps derived from Gosirsa Devaraja, an obscure tutelary god of Indian lore.
