There may possibly be a new game in the Shining Force series on the way.  Sega have been dropping a few hints lately and have mentioned that series famed character designer, "Tony", is working on a new project. The hints come via in a press release for the Comic Market 77 event, which takes place in Tokyo from the 29th to the 31st at the Tokyo Big Site. In the press release Sega say to expect goods sales for "A mysterious new project featuring character designs by Tony."   
 
In addition to this, within a late November blog post, the producer of Shining Tears and Shining Wind mentioned a new project is under way, the post referred to the new project using similar language to that seen in the press release.  
 
This could be anything, DS remakes, online RPG, or a new RPG game entirely, it could even be a new Anime.

Well there was Shining Force Feather on DS and Cross at the arcades recently. Don't get too excited yet.

I doubt it has anything to do with those two games, it appears to be something entirely new.

Okay... When did I say it's not something new? I just meant new SF game announcement doesn't mean worthy successor to SFIII announcement.
