A boss fight is a culminating challenge that pits the player against one or more enemies representing a greater threat and/or difficulty than those previously faced. These scenarios typically feature unique antagonists.
Cartoon characters are personas from cartoons, which are animated moving sequences that are usually drawn but can be computer animated and can come from television, movies, anime or even the web. They can be humans, animals, or even things usually not thought of as living.
Comic book or manga characters who are also in video games. There are tons of games with superheros such as Batman and Spider-Man out there.
Games involving characters that round up local hoodlums for the good of the community.
Video games that are based on comic books, manga and graphic novels.

Henchmen are the loyal grunts caught in between the player and the main antagonist. Without them every game would be nothing more than a boss battle.
These games are based off of established licenses, such as movies, comics, or TV shows. Examples are the James Bond 007 and Spider-Man franchises.
Shocker has shock waves as an external force, meaning he designed them.
A multinational corporation in Marvel Comics and affiliated media. It's normally associated with oil and other energy resources, but also has its hands in other ventures. Usually portrayed as evil or at the very least having illegal dealings.
Superpowered or super intelligent bad guys who fight superheroes.
Video games that, for better or for worse, are based on an existing non-video game franchise. Usually drawn from movies, tie-in games have also been made about TV shows, novels, and even one-hit wonder pop bands.
A malevolent character whose goals are evil in nature. While villains are commonly featured as antagonists, not all antagonists are necessarily villains.
