Cyber knights, yay! It's like medieval Tron. Too bad there isn't any gameplay here.

There seems to be only one weapon and location capture as a game mode.

At the end of the video (2:24) the red guy seems to use a different weapon, seems kinda like the railgun (instant hit) but I doubt its a regular gun, otherwise everyone would use it, right?

I've never played a mania game but i could see how this fits the mold, it's basically a template for people to make insane shit. Could be pretty cool

Edge had a preview of the game a few months ago and to be honest I didn't like what they were saying all that much. There are only 2 weapons in game and one of those (the rail gun - apparently a 1 hit kill) can only be used when standing on a "rail block," the default weapon fires 4 "FPS rocket speed" projectiles before having to recharge, the idea being to emphasise close quarters combat over range by making it really hard to kill someone at range unless you're on a rail block.

The rest of what they covered didn't make it sound terrible but I can't see myself playing this.

Trackmania benefits from very simple mechanics and a focus on player skill rather than item pick-ups/perks, looks like they've applied the same ideas here. Could be interesting.

Essentially taking the twitch gameplay from a Counter Strike and applying them to the fucking insane levels from Quake.

I hope this has tons of options and settings and mod opportunities.

Low-grav, grappling hooks, no fall damage, old-school 1.5 CS style stuff.

There is definately room for a multiplayer game that starts by removing all of the complicated stuff from modern shooters.

Needs heavier drops. The trailer makes it look much more interesting than it probably will end up being.

I rarely make judgement calls based on short trailers but damn if this does not just look like a budget version of UT or Quake. Not even a good budget game either, just a strait up shady PSN release of an IOS game style budget.

If that's what they go with, I think a 'rail-gun only', fast fps based on capture points is completely perfect for the feel of the 'Mania' stable of games.

I was sort of expecting FFA though.

When they said shooter, I kept imagining like multiplayer PixelJunk Shooter. I guess this could be alright. I really loved playing instagib in UT, so I wouldn't really mind a whole game based around that. Also, there aren't that many arena shooter anymore, so it could be fun in that respect.

I can't see how they can have crazy levels like Trackmania. I mean, TM has loops, banked curves and sheer madness like that. I'm waiting to be proved wrong of course.

Looks like Tribes. I guess that game is going to live or die by the quality of it's user maps. If they do crazy awesome shit, it'll be awesome. If they're all crap, it'll suck.

@iAmJohn: I believe that the next TM tile set comes out before QuestMania, at least from some forum posts I read. I don't have a credible source though.
