The equivalent of Gruntilda's Lair and the Isle o' Hags, Showdown Town is the central location in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. Banjo and company are transported to the town by mysterious figure Lord Of Games in order to prove their worth in a final fight against Gruntilda, the stakes being their homeland of Spiral Mountain. Rare has said Showdown Town is currently the largest in-game asset they have ever made.
Showdown Town is a somewhat medieval-styled village housing a wide assortment of animal residents such as pigs, rhinoceri and penguins. Familiar mole Bottles takes up the role of town guide to assist Banjo and Kazooie, while other characters offer a variety of services. Off the town square is Mumbo's Motors, which allow the duo to construct their vehicles out of the parts in their possession. Humba Wumba sells blueprints to help with the construction of more advanced contraptions, while ogre Klungo owns a gaming emporium on the local pier.
