The Jamerific Review for Civilization Revolution

After playing the game for several hours, and being the first Civilization game I have ever played, I say it was pretty fun. Cities are quite easy to manage, though the random maps you start on can affect if your going to do well early on or are in for a long tough struggle. Battles are much like a rock, paper, scissors game except your rocks can upgrade every 3 victories.

The characters though cartoony are still highly detailed, and I mean HIGHLY detailed! Is it just me or is cosmetic surgery an ancient technology, because Cleopatra is STACKED! Animations are smooth and AI is quite challenging the more difficult the setting.

Despite the good things about the game there are a few bad things. On example is even if your army's attack is higher then your opponent's defense, it doesn't mean you will come out with a victory. I have had a few times where my tanks are taken out by catapults or my army of archers are taken out by just 2 horsemen.

Another thing that tends to happen is that sometimes when the enemy is overrun by your troops, they tend to get stuck in the environment, mostly around mountains and forests, which allows your troops to wipe them out without taking damage.

Online is also a bit of a trouble, more so on finding players that will stick around for a full game rather then them dropping out when things get tough. If you have 3 other friends to play with it can be quite fun and entertaining.

There are still some questions I have to ask when I played this game like why is Lincon for the US and not Washington? Where was Norway and it's Vikings? And why can I have nuclear power but not have learned electricity?

All in all it is a pretty good game that fills that craving for something that combines world domination and a game of chess into one game.

I give this 4 jars of jam out of 5

Staring at the clock, you consider starting another match. “Hey, I’ll just set things up for when I play tomorrow!” you say. Three hours later, you’ve finished another Civilization Revolution match, and you’re left wondering where the time went. Sounds like a Civilization game, doesn’t it? If you’re a veteran of the series, that’s music to your ears. That’s always the concern with PC strategy games making the jump to consoles — does it feel like the PC game? Too many times gamers have been doubl...

This is the case with Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution. Not because it is bad in any way, but simply because I am not that good at it. What makes me confident enough to review the game despite my weakness at playing it is easy to describe. Despite the fact that I have yet to win a mat...
