Sid Meier's Civilization V
Game » consists of 6 releases. Released Sep 21, 2010
Civilization V brings brand new gameplay elements to this beloved franchise, while maintaining the "just one more turn" mentality.
multiple installs
It should be tied to your steam account now, you should just login to ur steam account on your dad's computer and download it from your list of games.
Well, it wouldn't be ideal but u could log your dad's account off of his computer, log into it on your computer, download and install civ, start it once to get it initialized, and then go into offline mode on ur dad's account. Your dad will be able to then login and use his account as normal and you can play civ but only single player or lan against your dad or friends that come over. Its a bit of a gray area, kind of against steam's rules but i guess its morally ok.
You might be able to play together offline in a lan game or something, I haven't messed around with the multiplayer. Just install on your computer under your dad's account and play offline, i.e. playing without logging into steam. But yea, i mean you want 2 games you have to buy 2 games.
" i just sent an email to steam asking if they could spare a new one, i dont know if that'll work though. cant i just download a keygen if i have i dont care? "Uhm. First of all, a new key is more or less a new game. I doubt they will just give you a new game. Second of all, the second sentence means piracy. Pirating the game means that you won't be able to play the game online, which basically nullifies your reason for not playing it offline on your dads account.
You're shit outta luck, mate. You messed up, just gonna have to buy it again.
You messed up. It's not Steams fault you brought the game on someone else's account and someone else's computer.
I've never tried it but I imagine the best you could do is transfer ownership of the game from your Dad's account to yours, and that's assuming Steam is feeling nice.
Also, piracy :(
" oh sorry i installed on my dad's steam account because he plays civ v also. so that doesnt work. "This just means you gave your copy of civ to your dad. Either buy a new one or get your dad to reimburse you for getting his copy. Welcome to the new age of PC gaming, where the disc don't mean shit and a legit CD key is worth 50 bucks.
