    I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I really haven't found anything here after some searching.

    Is there a way to have players/ai start in their real world locations when playing on the earth map? I really want to start on the British Isles as I love having a strong navel defence and if I'm isolated from the mainland it'll be easier to sit and research for a science victory.

    Is there any option to do that? I can't find it if there is. Thanks.

    @Scooper:
    Wait and check the mods in a couple of weeks.  The game already has "Earth" as a map and with each installment someone always seems to make a mod doing what you are asking for.  However, you'll probably have to select a large map if you want Britain to be more than a hex or two.

    I've been playing with this mod for some time. I think it's called True Start Locations in the mod list.

    Yeah, as said, there's a True Start Locations mod that puts all city-states and civs in their correct starting areas.

    This does make some civs a lot harder though, as Europe is VERY crowded and Japan has a kinda crappy starting location.
