    Overview

Sideways Wii Remote gameplay describes any Wii title that can be played by using a Wii Remote by itself without controller extensions or accessories. The Wii Remote is meant to be gripped with both hands like one would hold a traditional controller, with the D-pad end in the left hand. This manner of grip allows games to be played with a more traditional control scheme while also providing opportunities to use the Wii Remote's other capabilities as necessary. The player may also alter their grip on the Wii Remote to perform specific actions, such as first-person aiming in Metroid: Other M.
