Silent Hill 2 0

I've seen a lot of this game in the past, though I've never really played it myself. This changed when a friend and I agreed to both play a game we had only watched before, Silent Hill 2 for me, and Shadow of the Colossus for him. If you're not a fan of survival horror, this game has some of the genre's typical problems in places, but overall it's a very strong, creepy experience, and ahead of its time in some ways. It definitely holds up better than I might have expected.I'm not a huge fan of t...

Broken Game that Makes an Unforgettable Impression 0

I have always been torn over this game as it is so memorable yet so full of flaws. The combat and puzzles are absurd, so I recommend putting the game on the easiest difficulty to allow yourself to focus on enjoying the fantastic atmosphere, subtle yet gripping story, and one of the all-time great soundtracks (both music and sound effects). While there's a lot of fun to be had in this game, be prepared to be frustrated at times and don't be ashamed to pull up a FAQ if you get slowed down. Trying...

Atmospheric blockbuster 0

Light flickers, a metallic sound echoes through the hall and as I struggle to locate the origin of this ominous sound, the creature appears in my field of view, I am startled. The figure, devoid of all humanoid characteristics, straggles towards me, I freeze as my sanity is assaulted by this obscure vision of an organism which cannot be, which cannot inhabit this world. The world itself also seems to be out of place. As I have wondered through the desolate, yet lively town of Silent Hill, I have...

Best in Series 0

Silent Hill originated on the Playstation in 1999 and quickly rose to be both one of the scariest games created to date, and a new claim to fame for Konami as it rose to the ranks of the supposedly untouchable Resident Evil of the time. Silent Hill 2 for the PS2 is, surprisingly enough, the second installment in the series, and it lives up to provide just what one could hope for, while still not fully smoothing out the flaws of the genre. In Silent Hill 2 you play as James Sunderland in the tow...

Is Konami's First PS2 Survival Horror Epic Still Worth Exploring? 1

Ten years after the release of Silent Hill, I finally got around to experiencing this renowned Survival Horror series. The first title impressed this post-Resident Evil 4 Survival Horror fan with its open-ended storyline, horrifying sound effects, unique gameplay mechanics, and interesting characters. I was never a huge zombie fan, so I appreciated that Silent Hill brought something new to the Survival Horror genre. That terrifying adventure's storyline really gripped me -- so much so that I w...

This game used to terrify me as a child 0

Silent Hill 2, one of the most iconic survival horror games of all time. In my opinion, this game still holds up very well today. The graphics were and still are amazing. The sounds, lighting and atmosphere are brilliantly eerie in nature. The controls can be slightly clunky at times and the voice acting could've been better. The puzzles are fairly well done with the option to raise or lower their difficulty when starting a new game. The story is very well written and if you look online after co...

Look, A Silent Hill Review 1

When people think back to old-school survivor horror games, many people list Silent Hill 2 as their favorite. They say it's creepy, has a great story, and the characters are memorable. Playing through the game now-a-days rears some ugly heads that people may have over looked eight years ago though. It's also definitely one of those games with a terribly slow beginning, and had I not been looking for a game to review, I would've stopped shortly after starting.                 Silent Hill 2 t...

Our Special place 0

We all have to pay for our sins. It may be done by guilt or something else darker and abnormal.Everyone owns Silent Hill where redemption or eternal condemnation is at your hand. Are you willing to vistit this place? James Sunderland did after recieving letter from his decased wife. She wanted to meet him in town where they spent greatest time in their life. Health resort looks diferent this time its darker and abandoned but hero needs to confirm his wife status. Something hellish lies deeper b...
