It looks really interesting, but seems completely horrible.

It will either be an impulse buy tomorrow or I'll probably never play it, unless it gets ridiculously cheap which has been happening with a bunch of high profile games. Did you know most of the stores around my area are selling SSX new for $40? I just bought that game for $60 a couple weeks ago!!

Yeah same here, nearly bought SSX for 40 today actually. As for Silent Hill, I'm gonna wait a while, too much to play at the minute, and I really wanna get into the HD collection first before jumping into a brand new Silent Hill, I've played too many poor games in the series over the past few years, it'll be nice to jump back into the classics. I hope Downpour is good and I think it has a chance, and I didn't even mind Homecoming too much so I'm sure I'll get some enjoyment out of it at least.

Ill probably wait for the inevitable price drop, if ever. Origins and Homecoming were a major disappointment for me so I'm not even remotely excited for this.

@Shun_Akiyama: Homecoming's combat was pretty decent, and from what I've heard Downpour isn't any more combat heavy than the others until the end. And yeah, the SH games have always had sub-par combat, but no one plays SH games because they're mechanically sound. As long as the game gives me an experience true to the nature of the rest of the series, I will be more than satisfied.

It's been delayed in the UK till I think April (because of course it has) so no. I've got it preordered and paid for, though.

Definitely a rental for me, and with trepidation at that. I don't think I can bear another bad Silent Hill.

Maybe I'll rent it. It looks kind of graphically backward, like 2005 XBOX 360 backward. But maybe the stuff I've seen has just been at too low of a compression or something. I hope so anyway.

I'll get it from my library in a month or so.

Dude, go fucking buy SSX right now, i paid 69.99 euros for it, go see how much that is in dollars, i'm not sure, but it's probably around 90$.

Anyway, on topic, i wasn't interested in playing it before, and after the reviews, it just goes with what i felt.

Though, i will get the collection and replay SH 2 and 3.

Yeah, I watched those gameplay videos with the awful, awkward combat, so I'm definitely waiting on reviews or just not getting it at all, but maybe it's a totally changed game. Who can say?

I may just rent it at some point. Homecoming and Silent Hill 4 have done an amazing job of enfeebling my interest in any subsequent Silent Hill games. I do have an immense fondness for Silent Hill 2 and Shattered Memories, though.

The exploration bits got me interested in it. 
 
But not so much that I would pay $60 for it.

I'll probably buy it in a week or two, maybe longer, only because I have way too many games i'm currently playing.

I hope its good but I'm not expecting much.

I played it last year at Eurogamer Expo and it played awfully. It just controlled terribly and the combat made me want to die.

I'm a big Silent Hill lover though, so I'll probably go ahead and pick it up when it drops in price. Big fat disappointments all round.

I got it because I love all things horror.

If you bought this game on 360, can you tell me if they're any framerate issues? The PS3 version has quite a bit. I don't particularity mind it, but I'm curious if this is an issue exclusive to the PS3.

I pre-ordered it, but can't remember if I have it paid off yet or not. I actually might just cancel it honestly.

now that the games is out

My frame rate straight-up locks up from time to time for about 1/4 second. This will not bode well during fights, when I must fight.

But other than that, it isn't terrible at all. Granted, I just got into the caverns to find the choo-choo the kids loved so much......so much.

i just pre ordered it the other day as it was coming out on friday and now its just changed to the 30th of march :(

I was excited, then I saw the reviews - I think I'll just wait for the HD collection instead.

In 99 I played the Silent Hill 1 demo. I believe it came with OPM. It was really disturbing, I remember it very well. I'm going to play the series now and I'm in the hospital in the original. The sounds alone more than make up for the outdated graphics. Too bad homecoming doesn't have inverted Y option, maybe a pc xpadder version...
