I'll admit I'm a huge Silent Hill fan.  Granted, the games have always played terribly, but the aesthetic and lore behind them are something I'm repeatedly drawn to.  I personally am really looking forward to what a Western studio can do with an HD Silent Hill game.  How about you guys?

IM so definately 100% behind this game - little nervous bout western company making it - but if they can streamline the controls and combat - whilst keeping the Silent hill feel, scare factor -ands always fantastic story

(Which htey can do as the main character is a soldier)
Then this game is going to be AMAZING!

I'm a fag of all trades.  I swap my name color based on which platform I'm gaying it up on the most at the time.

I've always been a fan of the series, and have enjoyed everything it offers. Despite what other hardcore fans might say, I'm looking forward to the new improvements.

Hopefully I'll have enough cash for this after buying textbooks.

Yeah, I look to Tomb Raider as proof that a new team who "gets it" can make an excellent entry into a franchise.  Especially since Team Silent seemed to be losing their touch a bit.

I dunno man - i actually loved silentt hill 4 once i read about all the lore and the backstory that was behind the whole lot -

I always find i appreciate a silent hill game so much more once ive got all the endings, then read pu on the significance of everything - the playthrough after that just highlights everything awesome about the games
And 'The room' was no real exception (except the ghosts, they can go sodomise themselves)

I have a love hate relationship with The Room.

    I absolutely love:
    The Combat
    The Story
    The Environments
    The Music
The Creepiness of Having Invincible Ghosts Chase You
Baby head things that point at you when you come around a corner
    The Claustrophobia

    I absolutely hate:
Out of place sound effects that ruin the aural landscape (cougar dogs, belching nurses, monkey corpses)
    Inventory system
Fucking 3 hour long escort mission

I am very excited about this video game!, but I'm waiting for the PC version. I think this game would be better on the PC like the other video games in the series.

I haven't heard that much about it honestly. I have never really played a SH game since I wasn't a fan of the horror genre in my younger days and now I don't know which game to start with...I always hear mixed things about every single SH game. I may check this out, but I would also like to check out some of the previous games as well.

I'm looking forward to it. Silent Hill has always been a shining example of great storytelling and atmosphere, and I'd love to see them return to form.

Nah, the combat in 4 adds evasive dodges & charge attacks add much more depth to the combat than SH1-3 or RE1-3's wars of attrition had.
