My birthday is in March which is probably the main reason they decided to do this.

Multiplayer in Silent Hill is an interesting idea, but not the way they're doing it.

So pretty much they're trying to take my Mass Effect 3 funds from me. Bastards. And Blizzard better not announce the release for D3 in March too or somebody's getting their shit kicked in

Silent Hill used to be one of my fav series but since a Western developer has taken over they have gone downhill.

As much as I like the story in the SH games I cannot stand the gameplay.

Silent Hill 2 is one of my all time favorite games so yes, SO PUMPED!

I really want Downpour to be good, but I'm a little skeptical..

I loved the original but never played any of the others. But I've already had the stories for SH 2 and 3 totally spoiled, so I won't be getting this HD Collection.

True, Silent Hill 4 wasent intended to be a Silent HIll game tho, it just turned into one, but Downpour looks like a step in a good direction past Homecoming, but not as good to go past 2.

I'll probably pick up Silent Hill HD.

Did anything come about them getting the old voice actors back on?

@SASnake: I honestly could say as it seems they really havent released much media for the game, or at least I haven't seen it.

True, SH4 was shoehorned into being a SH but I think it was still unique and they had interesting ways to connect the game with the rest of the series.

All of the above. I think SH3 was great too. The Room... was different. Not necessarily bad, I just suffered from SH fatigue at that time, I guess. Homecoming, despite being more true to the formula, was not my game. Shattered Memories was a good one.

They got the old SH2 voice cast to sign off on their performances so the original track for that will be included. SH3 no one's really sure about...they were having a hard time locating Heather's voice actress and recently found her so maybe they'll work something out but probably not.

Downpour looks interesting, but I'm definitely looking forward to playing through the HD Collection first.

I think Silent Hill 1, 2, and 3 were all pretty excellent. 4 was pretty alright, though it took me a little while to warm up to it. Everything past that has been terrible almost without exception. And now they don't even have Akira Yamaoka doing the music to sucker me back in! Unless downpour proves itself amazing, I fear for any future the series might have.

Silent Hill Downpour is SH's last chance; if they fuck this up, then that's it, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. These aren't the same guys who done Homecoming (which I thought was still OK), and a lot of the preview footage has made Downpour to look pretty alright. I still own the original PS2 copies of SH2/SH3, so I'm not in a rush to go get the HD version, and Book of Memories... that filth can burn in a fire.

So as far as I'm concerned, there's only one SH game coming out in March

I really wish they didn't delay the HD collection til March. That was literally the only thing coming out this month that I had any sort of interest in. But at least then I'll be able to play 2, 3, and Downpour in pretty rapid succession. Downpour looks excellent from what I've seen of it. At the very least, I'm excited to see how the more open-world elements come together.

I agree. I think a Demon's/Dark Souls-style game set in Silent Hill could be pretty fucking incredible though.

Book of Memories looks pretty much like the worst thing I have ever seen.

All I need is that HD collection... and man, I kinda feel like an HD collection whore. Shadow of the Colossus, Silent Hill, Jak & Daxter, Metal Gear Solid... I don't know if it's a problem that I don't feel bad.

I did say almost without exception. I'll admit that most of my enjoyment of that game came from getting to revisit my second-favorite protagonist, however.

Well, I'll be buying two of them, as I won't own a Vita.

I really hope for PC versions of the HD remakes. The original PC versions have some issues on modern systems so it would be nice to have real working modern versions of the silent hill series. They did bring homecoming to PC so why would they not make the HD remakes? I like the silent hill games but I hate all the backtracking and rediculous puzzles that I find infuriatingly obfuscated and the combat is really kind of bad.

I bet putting out HD before Downpour could help Downpour. People go back to those games they love, replay them, and then think, "Maybe i'll give Downpour a chance, because I really love Silent Hill 2!". I dunno, just a thought.

Silent Hill Downpour will be garbage, as will Book of Memories.

Good grief! Konami got the entire SH 2 cast back together just to appease their absurdly picky fans. Buy this HD collection already and support good ole' Konammy.

I love Silent Hill... will play all of them, again!

Absolutely. When you really think about it, SH2 is not about the "what" but about the "why" and the "how... the fuck is it that you don't get it, James?" When I first played it, I saw the "twist" coming from miles away but I refused to believe it could be that simple, but after subsequent playthroughs I realized that so did James. It is clever how the twist is not for you but for James, and the fact that things have to get weirder and more twisted to get the truth through his head is what makes the game so fun.

SH3's "twist" is similar in that once you know what it is, any kind of resolution is still far away.

@Olivaw: They recently accounced that SH2 will include the original voice overs, probably because of the fan outcry.

Has anyone explained how the multiplayer works? ...and why?
