Silpheed Alternative is an Android exclusive entry to the Silpheed series. Like the 2007 Xbox 360 exclusive Project Sylpheed it is a third person dogfighting game rather than a vertical scrolling shooter like the original games.
Project Sylpheed is a space-age sci-fi shooter made in Japan for the Xbox 360. It follows the story of three pilots who were once friends, and the war that has separated them.
Silpheed is a 1986 vertically scrolling shoot 'em up featuring 3D flat-shaded polygon graphics. Successive ports featured improved graphics but retained the same core gameplay. The Sega CD version in particular used pre-rendered FMV as backgrounds.
