Character Bio

Skrunch is a one eyed monkey from the planet Florana. His first appearance in the series is in Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal, when Captain Qwark has lost his mind, and is living amongst the creatures. Although it is clear that he and Qwark are friends, there does seem to be some sort of argument between them in one scene, which leads to Qwark proclaiming 'Hey, it was mating season, how was I to know she was your sister!'.

Later, Ratchet brings them both back to the Starship Phoenix, hoping Qwark will re-gain his memory. After remembering who he is, Qwark emerges from his room and begins assembling the Q-Force, which Skrunch seems to be a part of.

Although its not immediatly clear why he was chosen, Skrunch is important in missions later on in the game. Skrunch operates a machine gun mounted on the back of a buggy, while Ratchet, who is controlled by the player, drives. He also accompanies Clank on one of his solo missions, where the robot uses the Banana Guided Autonomous Monkey Device to fire bananas, which Skrunch runs after, and, in doing so, distracts nearby enemies.

He also features as a guset star in the Secret Agent Clank tv show, replacing Ratchet, who had become increasingly clumsy on the set.

Skrunch also makes a return to the series in Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters. At the end of the game, Qwark attempts to swap his mind with the game's villain, Otto Destruct, but accidentally swapped Otto's and Skrunch's. As a result, Skrunch becomes a highly intelligent monkey and in Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction it is revealed that he has received a place in the Kerwan School of Quantam Mechanics.

In Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One, it is mentioned in the game manual that Skrunch has become Vice President.
