Who needs friends I got Skylanders

Has anyone else caught the fever that is Skylanders? I bought the game Tuesday and 200 dollars later I'm drowning in plastic collectibles. I love this insidious marketing device how does my fellow bombers feel?

You and Jeff seem to be in the same boat. I really want this game but I'll wait for the Christmas sales. It is $90 in Australia for the starter pack alone and $15-$20 for individual packs so it's not a reasonable investment at this moment.

I have to ask - what's driving you to buy more of them? I've seen that people enjoy the game itself, and I've also seen that people just are getting into the 'collect them all!' mentality. I'm just curious as to what it is that makes it fun for you - is it the toys themselves, or the way the toys and the game interact?

@Zanzibar106 It's jusr the fact that they made the little skyland dudes all individually pretty cool. Like @Jeff touched on in the bombcast. The little collectables you get for specific charecters just seemed to brainwash me to this state of that dude is really cool I MUST HAVE HIM!.

I just got it for 3ds and I do believe the bug has bitten me. If I'm not mistaken, my summoning portal also works with my 360. THAT is serious trouble. *sigh* yup. I have a feeling I'm gonna be taken for a very expensive ride. . . atleast it's gonna make me smile the whole way. Now if only I could battle these little suckers against other peeps. . .

@P00zombie I must agree if this had online 4 player co-op and multiplayer I may dare say it would be GOTY contender

I find this sad to admit to anyone but myself but If I had the cash to do this, I would have bought them all. There is something about gaming collectibles that draws me near and I cannot wait to back in a financial area to be able to have fun with it again.

I bought Skylanders when it came out and pretty much put it on the shelf when I got my copy of Arkham City. I finished the main story of Arkham City last night so I think I'll be maxing out my Skylanders' levels until Skyrim comes out.

Holy crap! I couldn't agree more. Online 4 player co-op would put this over the edge.

As for Skylanders, this just seems like a bizarre fad to me. I understand the marketing genius behind it but I'm so far from the target audience, it's kind've baffling to see grown adults and kids alike buying into Skylanders so hard.

This game is awesome! Okay, the game is not really awesome, but the collecting of the dude is. I am 19 Skylanders in, and I'm thirsty for more.
