Hmm...
If so, I love Alex reviews anyway.
Game » consists of 18 releases. Released Aug 14, 2012
I guess it makes sense but man is it weird that Alex is now the reviews workhorse around here. Looking at the list it seems like Jeff, Brad, and Alex take care of a vast majority of the reviews. Patrick and Ryan seem to be tied up for reviews. I does make sense though given how different Ryan's role is now, taking a more active production role around the office. With that said, Ryan's reviewed 2 games all year. And half the quick looks he said he's going to do never happen, like that Risen QL.

I thought RYAN was going to do it. But an ALEX is fine too.
Oh man, referring to their names in all caps like that makes me thing they're robotic versions of themselves.

I thought of old-school JRPG characters.
That makes since. That week is the most packed in months. We already got a quick look on it and Jeff will be busy reviewing DarkSiders 2.

Alex is, by far, the best reviewer on the site so I hope so.Absolutely.
For me, it's either Alex or Brad. Brad's reviews read like a wonderful story, and Alex's are always pretty funny, but honest.

Ryan's pretty good, too. He has such a ludicrously expansive vocabulary and his writing style is probably the most... colourful. And no offence to Jeff, but I think he's one of the weakest writers on the site; he doesn't have as much of a unique writing identity as the rest of the crew. But he's also easily the most charismatic on-screen. It's why I've always loved watching his video-reviews, regardless of whether it's for a game I'm interested in or not.

I think Jeff said as much himself in a Jar Time video. He thinks Brad is the best writer on the site, but his own history of doing shitty public access TV shows made him really comfortable on camera. Speaking of, I would kill to see those shitty public access TV shows.

I dunno man. It was a Jar Time video; I don't remember the episode, much less the exact time, nor the exact quote. I just remember he said that Brad is a better writer than he is.

Watched the latest Jar Time, he doesn't mention Brad. You made me waste more than an hour of my life searching for it! *lights up pitchfork and knocks on The_Nubster's door*

I can definitely confirm he said something to that effect in one of them, but it was a while ago. I think Brad and Ryan are both very good writers, Alex as well. But reviews aren't really the thing most people come to GB for. I'd much rather hear them speak candidly about a game on the Bombcast. Usually the best discussion on games are a while after they've been released.
I enjoy Ryans written reviews for their flow and wording and I enjoy Jeffs for how easy they read and how straight to the point they are. I think Alex tries too hard with this whole snarky persona he has and Brads reviews are always so completely skewed I find them difficult to get through.
That said I don't know why they even bother writing reviews. Each week on the Bombcast you can get a pretty comprehensive review for whatever game they were playing with the added bonus of others weighing in on it or asking questions that you yourself might have asked. If you're a fan of the site and watch all the QuickPeeks and listen to the Bombcast then the written review is somewhat superfluous.
Yeah even with Ryan liking Max Payne 3 in his review, everyone else blasted it on the podcast in the following weeks and he barely tried to defend it. Podcast for review consensus.

Well Ryan is overall very wishy-washy. During GOTY talks he basically just said whatever you guys decide it. I don't think I've ever heard Ryan argue strongly for saying - except BestBuy, he did rail on BestBuy.
If you check his achievements, you can see he is already playing it.

Well, not everyone has the time to keep up with all their content, or perhaps even wants to listen to three hours of people talking about random crap just to find out if a game is good or not. Granted, they tend to save most of their reservations about games for the podcast (which has always annoyed me), so maybe you should listen to that if you want their complete opinion, but if you just want a straight review of the game, they do kind of need to put those up. Seeing as they're a site that reviews video games. And all.

It's struck me as odd regarding the massive lack of written reviews in general over the past year. Giantbomb is a widely appreciated site and I don't know what it is, but they seem to be slacking with the reviews.
It could have something to do with the whole "Company was purchased and entirely uprooted/moved to a new office" situation. Just a guess, though.

That only gets to be an excuse for so long. When they have people paying to keep the site alive, they need to deliver content. I can only cut them so much slack.
Played about an hour of it so far. It's good. Plays well on the PC also. Driving is a bit weird, although you get used to it fast. The melee reminds me of Batman, although you do not have that weird counter issue were you glide from target to target so you can't spam the counter button.

What are the chances Sleeping Dogs would be called True Crime by accident in the review? Or on purpose?
"it would be a true crime to pass up on this engaging, visceral interactive experience"

Exactly. I can understand that's a suitable reason when they were moving, but they seem to have been settled for a while now.
