    Sly Cooper Review

In Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, you play as Sly Cooper. The latest in a long line of master thief raccoons. The day that Sly is set to inherit his family's book of thieving techniques, called The Thievius Raccoonus, a group called "The Fiendish Five" comes and steals the book and kills his family. Sly is the shipped off to an orphanage where he meets his best friends, Murray and Bentley. A few years later, the three set out to reclaim Sly's family name, avenge his family, and get back the Thievius Raccoonus.

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus is a platformer. But it adds a stealth element to it by having you dodge security guards, red lasers, searchlights, etc. You move with the left analog stick. X is to jump. Square is to attack. O is to do a "Super Sneaky Spy Move." You can do these when to get close to the blue sparckles and hold it down. These elements add to the already fun platforming.  O also allows you to climb pipes, ladders, etc. As you go through each stage, there are a number of clue bottles. If you collect all of them, you get a secret code. You then can find a huge safe, that you put the code in and get a new move. Some other levels have you doing other things like racing or manning a turret.

I love cel-shaded graphics, so naturally I thought the game's graphics were great. The voice acting is mostly perfect for the characters. There is also some good music.

That's the review. I reccomend Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus to all platformer fans. And even if you're not a fan of the platformers, this game could turn you on to a whole new genre.

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus is a third-person platformer developed by Sucker Punch, the people who would later bring you inFamous. In the game, you take control of Sly Cooper, a raccoon thief and the last of the Cooper clan, a family of master thieves. The story goes as follows: When Sly was a young lad, a group of people calling themselves the Fiendish Five broke into his house, killed his family and stole the Thievius Raccoonus, the Cooper Clan's tome of thieving. After that, Sly is ...

Who knew thieving could be so much fun (or so short)? 0

As someone who finds most stealth sections and/or elements of videogames to be poorly designed, tacked-on atrocities, I was a little wary of  Sly Cooper and The Thievius Raccoonus. But, at the same, I was intrigued by its concept of blending platforming and stealth into one. A concept that, surprisingly, comes together beautifully in its execution, by delivering simple, fluid platforming, and stealth mechanics that don't rely upon old trial-and-error formula. The game puts you in the roll of Sl...
