• Sell outs (And i don't mean in the music business, but sell outs in the sense that someone sold their strongest belief(s) and/or principle(s) for money, favors or simply to aid them in any way) 
• Self-righteous dicks with a superiority complex who love nothing more than to lecture people

Tobacco companies, smokers around the world and self-destructive nature of mankind.

If this **** is true, and i don't really know i just found these cool quotes, but if it is, then i think that mankind, in general is stupid and/or self destructive. (Doesn't matter if you smoke or not, the potential is there) So there you have it people, the self destructive nature of mankind has brought about the end of the world, but war, war never...damn it, i got lost.

• It makes you look cool
• Humphrey Bogart was a smoker
• According to the World Smoking Facts, without smoking, there will be +1 billion people in the worlds populace by the end of the 21st century so: Keeping the population down +1 for pros list
  
• It's relaxing
• A cigaret is great for after sex
• Great for social occasions...not anymore, thank you anti-smoking adds 
• Reduces stress

• Causes death (Not the only point i can put here, but do i really need to put more?)

I actually don't really have a problem with people smoking most of the time, but the fact is that smoking can affect people around you, so the argument of "do whatever you want since it's your own health" doesn't really hold up. 
I also want to say that a smoking self-righteous person riding a high moral horse would be the worst, but I'm not saying that you are one of those...

I was a smoker for about 14 years and gave up 4 years ago. I don't do the whole "people who smoke are disgusting" blah blah blah stuff as I agree people have the right to make their own decisions especially when it effects their own well-being.  i have to admit that I do agree that no smoking in public places is definitely a good thing ( It never bothered me when I smoked). The hardest part of staying a non-smoker for me is when walking behind someone who is smoking on the street as it just makes me want to smoke one, Im not one of those people who dont miss it. I miss smoking (not every day but every few days) and I know I couldn't just have one. At least alchoholics if they dont want to be tempted can just stay out of a bar or liquor store:)

Hmm some of your points are kind of stupid. You smoke cause you think it makes you look cool (it doesn't) and to spite this group of people that you dislike. I agree that some people are self righteous about it that fact is smoking is bad in many many ways and I see no real reason to start smoking in this day and age. Although I suppose it all depends on your upbringing and stuff.

I don't complain to people who smoke, but anti-smoking has always been something with me. Mainly because I'm allergic to the shit. If I stay in a hotel room where someone has smoked or ride in a car as such, I'll come out as if I've had a cold for two days.

My dad and two brothers smoke and I've had to put up with the second hand smoke for far too long. I think some of your points in justifying the pros of smoking are a bit poor. The only valid one would be that it is your choice whether or not to smoke but I mean things like reducing stress? There are other ways to do that.

I sometimes smoke, but you come across as an aggressive fuckwad who appears to think that anyone who disagrees with them deserves death.

This is the reason pro smoking arguments are so dumb. I don't care if you smoke, but the modern mental state of smokers like you is laughably stupid. I love smokers who like to justify something pointless that kills you and others around you slowly by trying to make anti-smokers out to be the bad people that deserve death.

Also the fact that tobacco companies are required by law to put an warning on each box on what that crap does to you is the best thing that ever happened to them, because even with that stupid smokers still buy them, so whenever they get breathing problems, cancer, skin problems or whatever gess what, no lawsuit possibilities whatsoever.

While I don't agree with some stuff (smoking doesn't make you look cool... what is this, the 70s? haha) I smoke and hate being the victim of prejudice for it. People make the bold claim I'm killing them with second hand smoke. Fair enough, I smoke away from you- then you want to be where the smoking section is so you move it until its no longer there. I guess free choice no longer applies when people need a crusade.

People just need a reason to hate, and hating smokers is easy because they have loose claims to fall on that it's somehow affecting them (even though they get worse from regular food and pollution everyday- but keep kidding yourself because smokers get talked about more often haha).

Why don't you look down on soldiers? They sign up for duty, they know that there is a good chance that they will die, and they'll die for the interest not of the country, but of the government. Why not look down on all the people who visit McDonalds? They clog their arteries with those burgers. But you know what? You shouldn't look down on anyone. Because in this day and age, soldiers are a national necessity. It would be great if they weren't needed, no doubt, but they are and that's that. Cigarettes are only needed by those that have already developed an addiction to them. People who visit McDonalds don't do it ten or twenty times a day so they're not having the same harming effect to their bodies. Oh, and he explained he does not look down on the person, rather the trait.

I'll never understand why someone would want to spend the last six months of their life vomiting blood and being too weak to go out for a walk, but it's their choice and goddamn it I apparently must respect their personal freedom. I have a sort of begrudging respect for smokers, because sometimes it must be hard to smoke in public with all the (rather justified, personally) anti-smoking sentiment around, but then most of the smokers I see are as arrogant as possible about their disgusting habit and just smoke wherever the fuck they want around anybody without any respect for their personal space so it can be confusing. The line between "it's my freedom and personal choice to do this" and "I'm an asshole" can be pretty thin.
 
So as long as their respectful about where they smoke, everything's fine. If you're in a lineup with thirty other people, don't be a dick and light up. Second-hand smoke ain't cool - you get all of the negatives (increased possibility of ugly death, rank as all hell odor) but none of the positives (looking dynamic, Humprey Bogart association).

I used to smoke.  Now I don't.  It's bad and if you haven't started, you shouldn't.  But, if you're a grown-up and you want to do it anyway, then that's your choice.  A stupid choice but I was stupid too for many years.

To a certain extent, i agree with you. Anti-smokers or any of your aforementioned "self-righteous lecturing dicks" kinda piss me off sometimes. And I don't smoke.
 
However, i do ask people i care about to quit because, well I care about them. I won't spend my time lecturing you because I don't fucking care about some internet person. I'm an asthmatic (my mother lived in a house with two heavy smokers while she was pregnant, and smoked heavily before pregnancy), so I'm probably biased towards smoking in some way. That being said, I don't really care what you do to your lungs, as long as it doesn't affect me. Second-hand smoke is a bigger thing than you make it out to be; I might not get cancer from breathing it, but I sure as hell will have a serious asthma attack. I was at a party the other night where two people were smoking at the opposite end of a table from me, and even that made me start to wheeze. It's like having your throat close up, it's a terrible feeling.

I'm all for smokers rights, the fact that bar owners can't decide whether they allow smoking or not is bullshit- You're right that a little second-hand smoke won't hurt you, but chain-smoking in a tiny car with the windows rolled up with your two-year-old in the back seat every day can do some serious damage- it's not completely harmless.

Also, I'm the only non-smoker at work, and it sometimes pisses me off that the lazy fucks can't go an hour without sucking a fag before they get pissy, and have to go stand around outside by themselves in the cold for 10 minutes every hour leaving me to cover their work. Is it legal to hire non-smokers exclusivity? Because business would be ~15% more productive...

I have never seen 'sell-out' used in that context, also, it's a really shitty word. In the context of what you're saying, I think 'sycophant' would be much more apt.

Doing their job isn't really what I'd consider ' self-righteous '.   Perhaps you thought that sounded really cool reading it back, the 'don't give a fuck' bad boy approach, but it really just screamed obnoxious asshole.  Secondly, smoking doesn't mean you WILL get cancer, it just increases your chances significantly. You could smoke 40 a day for 80 years and still never get cancer.

 Before you say I'm one of those ' holier than thou ' type of people, I have at stages in my life smoked, done various drugs and all that crap and I don't feel the need to announce it. You pretty much put this across as a response to these "Self-righteous dicks with a superiority complex who love nothing more than to lecture people" you referred to but I have seldom encountered any. (I live in the U.K too, Northern Ireland to be precise) The majority of my friends smoke and none of my other friends care at all about second hand smoke etc(except when they're eating and the smoke is going over them, that's fair enugh I guess). When I was younger there was all that ' Don't ever start smoking' and all that usual stuff but when I got older (I'm sure this is the case with most people) it stopped coming up. You either smoke or you don't really, you're old enough to make your own choices. It has been about 6 years since I've heard anything even resembling a lecture on the dangers of smoking. (I'm 20)  Out of curiousity, what age are you?
