Snail

Overview

Snails and slugs usually appear as a decorative addition to rural environments in video games but can also appear as enemies. Korean MMO Maplestory features green, blue and red snails as low level enemies as well as a snail-based boss and in Mega Man X2 Crystal Snail is an enemy fighter. In some cases snails have appeared as the allies of the player; Gary the Snail is a character from the Spongebob games and Snailburt is an animal orb found in Castle Crashers. Snails are rarely controlled by the player but the game Snail Maze for the Sega Master System sees players guiding an orange snail through a maze under timed conditions and Snail Mail for the PC and iPhone involves players racing snails along a track.
