SOCOM II: U.S. Navy SEALs
Game » consists of 4 releases. Released Nov 04, 2003
SOCOM II is the second game in Zipper's popular SOCOM franchise. It was one of the most popular online-multiplayer games for PS2 due to its solid gameplay and online mechanics.
This is the GOTD.
Honestly, the only military-themed game that is remotely deserving of the GOTD title is Navy SEALs: Weapons of Mass Destruction. How anyone else could possibly disagree is beyond me.
Is /sarcasm on? YOU decide!
" People, please remember that a decade is 10 years. It lasts longer than from '07 to '10. I think a classic should be GOTD, not a new fad that will go out of style. That's just me though. "can you say that is a less condescending way? asshole

" @Jeff said:" Desert Glory 4everrrrrrrrr. "Hell yeah!! but extraction on fishhook was pretty sweet. "
But not as sweet as a good game of Suppression with friends on Desert Glory, Night Hours, Blood Lake...
O.K, do I really need to name all of the maps? EVERY map in this game was the best map I have seen in a video game.
SOCOM II was not only a huge game, but it was a very important one that brought about the gaming we take part in today. Remember that back when SOCOM II came out, online gaming with consoles wasn't that big. The SOCOM franchise, and SOCOM II specifically, happened to bring about big ideas that helped pave the way for so many games that we have today.
So recognize, muthafuckas!!!
I would be fine with SOCOM II being GOTD. However, I personally think that there are too many games to pick from, and that no honest answer is more correct than the other.
@adtr_zero: Hey man- just a quick heads up... ORIGINAL SOCOM IS COMING BACK!!! look up "H-Hour" (on kickstarter) spread the word!!!

I'm wondering if Bungie ever took any inspiration from this at all or just made their own thing...
I feel like most of the groundwork for the popular online shooter was mapped out on the pc years before, then it was just a case of getting the controller to play ball, matchmaking etc.
