SOCOM is a competitive shooter everyone should play

This game is a follow up to the revolutionary SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs, and follows in its foot steps very well. It plays just as smooth and a little better with sharp visuals, but not the best. The character movement is also really well done making it very accessible. It is played from a third person perspective, giving you a choice to zoom in to first person ,or use a scope just like the first game in the series. All the guns reoccur in this game as well as new guns. Your aim retical is still displayed on the screen, and the guns shooting have been altered, and mines for the terrorists.

The game also carries out a campaign with 12 missions, and 4 difficulties. There are 4 different areas of operation, and the missions can be difficult, while really making the experience feel like you really are a Navy SEAL, and pretty cool cut scenes.

The biggest part of this game of course, is its multiplayer which is really addictive and fun. It is still 16v16, and adds some new game types like breach, escort  and also the option for respawn games (which are unranked). The gameplay can get very competitive, with many new maps, as well as all maps from SOCOM 1 coming back. This game does have many bugs, but plays great still. It also introduces a ranking system as well as clan support.

The bad aspects about SOCOM II are users can use things like code 9 to cheat ruin the experience. Back in 2003 and the games hay day, the game was very fun, and had many people playing without many cheaters, but now a small community of about 300 play a day, and youèll be lucky to find a room without code 9. The is the best third person shooter out there, I canèt recommend to everyone, but most people should give the game a try, may seem a bit dated, but its all still good fun.
