He is voiced by David Hayter in the English versions, Akio Ohtsuka in Japanese.

    poor solid snake, hopefully now after mgs4 he can get some rest because mgs 1,2 and 4 made his life out to be complete crap.

    Snake should be happy a bit, as the US can no longer call him out of  his retirement (I think for the 3rd or 4 th time). All these years, had been cleaning the mess his father left behind.

    I think Metal Gear Solid 4 really drove home the point of just how shitty Snake's life had been.  Ultimately he was a pawn all the way up to the very end.  :(
