    History

    Solusek Ro
    Solusek Ro
The Burning Prince wields the primal power of the sun that Norrath revolves around.  He derives his strength from the greater elemental plane of fire, governed by his father.  Of all the gods, it could be argued that Solusek Ro most often meddles in the affairs of mortals.  He seems to find amusement in this and disrupting the plans of his fellow gods.  During the Age of Blood, he created the Serpent's Spine mountains that run north to south through the center of Tunaria.  By doing so, it greatly affected the weather of the continent.  The lush Elddar Forest was suddenly more susceptible to the scorching heat of the sun.  The rivers ran dry, it rained less each year, and while the Elven druids fought long and hard, using their affinity to nature to combat the climate change, they could only delay the inevitable.  Slowly, the forest faded away and a desert replaced it.  The Elves were forced to flee Tunaria, leaving their magnificent city of Takish-Hiz in ruins and soon to be swallowed by the sand.  They fled to Faydwer and established the cities of Kelethin and Felwithe.  This marked the beginning of The Lost Age.

During the Age of Turmoil, a temple was built in honor of Solusek Ro in the Lavastorm Mountains.  Within the temple were members of almost every race, all devoted to the Burning Prince.  They offered rare items and elaborate class-based armor to any who visited the temple.  During this era, there was also a cult of necromancers led by Marnek Jaull who devoted their lives to Ro.  Jaull is credited with many of the arcane spells that are learned by the spellcasters of Norrath to this day.  He summoned an army of undead, called the Burning Dead, and set out on a mission to spread the word of Ro.  His army was eventually defeated by the Knights of Prexus from Erudin, though they lost their leader, Toran Neshal.

Solusek Ro also played an important role in the shattering one of Norrath's moons, Luclin, at the beginning of the Age of Destiny.  Despite this seemingly malicious action, countless disciples still worship the Burning Prince.  The largest concentration of these followers can be found throughout the Desert of Flame and in the city of Maj'Dul.

Followers of the Burning Prince put their faith in the power of fire.  They believe aggression is the only way to obtain the things they desire in the world and they fear very little.  Ro's faithful are typically blunt and direct in their manner of speaking, which is viewed as unkind or rude to most others, but they care not.  They are not out to make friends, only to earn respect.  Since fire is the focus of most wizards, they are Solusek Ro's most devout followers.

    Appearance

In most ancient lore, Solusek Ro is depicted as man with charred black skin cloaked in golden ringmail and a crown of flames.  He almost always is shown wielding a spear enveloped in a fierce blaze.  During the Age of Turmoil, Solusek Ro manifested himself as tall, beautiful man bright white hair and cloaked within a black and red robe that exposed much of his torso.  Strangely, the left half of his body was black as night, while the right half was bright white.  He still donned a crown of fire, but his spear was double-sided, emitting flames from both ends.

    Among the Pantheon

    Solusek Ro
Solusek Ro once resided in his own colossal tower within the elemental Plane of Fire, but was later given his own realm, the Plane of Sun, by his father, Fennin Ro, the Tyrant of Fire.  He is the brother of Druzzil Ro, the uncle of Ayonae Ro, and father of Varig Ro.  Despite being despised by a large portion of the population of Norrath, he is considered a neutral god in terms of good versus evil among the pantheon.  The Burning Prince is beloved my a large portion of the world's wizards, magicians, and even some necromancers.  Solusek Ro has an ongoing friendly rivalry with Mithaniel Marr, but otherwise has no real friends or pure enemies.  He is one of several gods who have returned to Norrath during the Age of Destiny.
